Do you know of any research proving this? I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but there have been a handful of high profile cases where people have had their lives put on hold for years, whilst under a charge of rape, only for it to fall through when defence counsel have been allowed access to all evidence which proves the accuser is lying. Off the back of this a substantial number more charges have failed.Puja wrote:I tend towards believing the accuser in these things just on the basis that the number of fake claims is vanishingly rare and the horrendous treatment the accuser tends to get makes them a) even rarer and b) in need of someone taking their side, but I'm aware it's hardly a foolproof method.cashead wrote:Which she stated she will be handing over to authorities as well as the prosecution in Ronaldo's rape case.Puja wrote:

Speaking of which:
Las Vegas police have issued a warrant, which has been sent to Turin police, for Ronaldo's DNA after a sample on the dress of a woman claiming to have gotten the Big Ron treatment in Vegas.

I know that % of rape claims that lead to conviction are very low but that is obviously mostly for reasons other than the supposed victim lying. No idea on the numbers of those that are just lying.
