Plenty of commentators saying we've been here before, 4 years ago, and he still came back to win. John Sopel, BBC America reporter, says it's different according to researchers on the ground, much worse than before, but doesn't say why.

Hillary was never this far ahead. + Hillary was very unpopular. Only slightly less hated than Trump. Biden isn't unpopular. That makes it hard for Trump to smack talk him down. Biden's handlers need to keep him on a short leash, though. He has it within himself to snatch defeat yet.
Biden's greatest virtue - not being actively terrible enough to cause a problem.

The only issue is that Biden can easily get pushed around by Trump and other Republicans. But hey, what else is new with the Democrats, right?
There's a reason the Tara Reade story has died. It's because she's about the least credible person ever to make an allegation, given she's almost certainly committed perjury.

What are the other skeletons that he has that weren't discovered in the course of VP vetting which is basically the most extensive vetting for a job that anyone gets in the US?

Donald Trump’s sexual assault claims, bankruptcies, and history of racism for starters. Checks and balances are broken.

If he had tried to portray himself as an honest decent bloke it would have killed him. But he doubled down as a warts and all candidate which has worked in convincing some voters that he is suitable and others that he was the least worse option vs Hillary.

His campaign now even has the message Washington needs a bad man to wrestle control back for the people. With a more competent candidate they could likely make much more of that, but he just keeps shitting the bed. The only thing it looks like he might achieve is to die like Elvis, which is to say dying on the crapper trying for once avoid the maid having to change the sheets whilst wolfing down a double cheeseburger

A big win for Jamaal Bowman in his congressional primary. Not easy to usurp a sitting candidate, especially not one with such traditional support structures. And does show if Biden wins he's going to face a lot of pressure from his left

In less positive news than Bowman's impressive primary win is the response of the Whitehouse to the news that Russia has been paying the Taliban for US deaths in Afghanistan, likely an encouragement from Russia to keep the USA embroiled in an overseas conflict it's seeking to withdraw from.

The Whitehouse has responded to the news that Trump was briefed on Russia's actions in promoting the death of US soldiers back in March by saying neither Trump not Pence was briefed, and Trump is so cross about not being briefed he's not called in the Pentagon and intelligence services to given them an utter kicking before having them prosecuted but has gone off to play golf.

I'll give Trump this, I find I am surprised at news of his inaction, I'm used to being disgusted by him, but the level of surprise around this I have found surprising

Letting your sponsor pay for the murder of Americans whilst simultaneously arguing for his country to rejoin the G7 is definitely a new low. I think (hope) this will remove the last vestiges of support amongst the military for him. I've been really enjoying the work of the Lincoln Project and Meidas Touch and their attack ads. This could fuel them most of the way to the election. I would recommend following them and sharing to amplify their signal. There is no one quite as brutal as the Republicans, even on someone who is supposed to be one of their own.

I've found their work a little hit and miss, but I also suspect they're not aiming the adds at the centre left.

Donald Trump has deleted a tweet he sent featuring video of a Trump supporter shouting, “White power! White power!” after an outpouring of grief and outrage at racist language flowing directly from the White House once again.

Not even slightly. I acknowledge they aren't all pitched at me but the messaging is great. I particularly like the "It's Trump or America" line, appealing to their audience's performative or genuine patriotism. They've been targeting Trump enablers in the Senate who are up for re-election, as well as playing the ads in swing states. My favourite thing of all is that they occasional put out an ad on Fox just to sledge Trump and get him tweeting about nothing else, drowning out whatever story he wants to tell and amplifying their message.

Some of it to me seems way OTT, but I'll certainly grant they know what they're doing as regarding winding Trump up

If neither Trump nor Pence are aware of intelligence generated by their own administration, then why are they there? Commander in chief? The fuck he is.

And having found out that his security services has been hiding this from him, he ...er... played golf. And still no reaction. Is anyone believing he didn't know?

They run their ads on Fox News mostly, and on Twitter. They buy airwaves in the swing states to target republican voters and DC To piss off DJT.

I'm thinking it is about time the keys were taken from America and the vehicle impounded. Firstly, they clearly can't handle a public health crisis. I don't I've seen anything quite as flying-in-the face-of-reality-illogical as this angry anti-mask sentiment in places that are quickly becoming overrun with acute respiratory illness. The rest of the world doesn't need that sort of wanton stupidity, so no traveling overseas for the foreseeable future I'm afraid. Keep your crazy and disease at home. Secondly, civil rights. Some 170 years after slaves were officially set free, this country still cannot grasp the concept of all men being equal. What are white people in this country so scared of, and why are you so angry at everything all the time? Thirdly, guns. I mean, how much more do you want to inflict on your citizens? Really? The rest of the world has figured it out. Take note. Finally, foreign policy. The fact that there is still debate surrounding the competence of the chief executive of the country terrifies the whole world. The mere possibility of this idiot being able command a vast military industrial complex is outrageous. All for a few tax cuts for the wealthy and some partisan judges that will follow jebus blindly through the courts? Sort it out.

I'm fucking sick of this shit.

Not sure what Mikey means, but I am curious too: are you white Caucasian? I hear it helps, even if the foreign accent may go against you.
