What? But this is politics. Isn’t a bunch of gross, demonstrably racist, ex-Cheney dickheads, who are probably just angling for spots in Biden’s team any kind of concern?

The whole ‘enemy of my enemy is my friend’ angle is incredibly effective at lowering the bar isn’t it.

I’m not saying they’re cunts because they attacked Trump, I just had a pretty brief read about some of them and the Cheney, tea party, racist-twitter-rants angle was quite prominent. I thought someone had mentioned them on here recently, but hadn’t actually seen any of their output.

They're not my cup of tea, but if one were to look at people backing Biden this week rather than look at The Lincoln Project I might look at Ady Barkan, given Ady is saying he's willing to use some of the time he has left (which isn't going to be a lot) helping to endorse Biden because that legacy is important to him

I don't think I know the name, so I'm not sure why you've pivoted that way, but okay.

Ah, he's pretty well known, I suspect you'd like him

What was a step to the left in backing Bowman isn't a step that was repeated in Kentucky where Amy McGrath took the Democratic nomination for Senate over Charles Booker in a race that was closer than expected going back 6 months or so. Booker looks an impressive performer and a name to remember, unless he carries on with rancid bullshit like calling McGrath a Trump Democrat, which was annoying because it was such blatant bollocks and that he had a positive message he ignored to go daftly negative at times.

Whether McGrath can now successfully take the fight to some chap called Mitch McConnell isn't clear, you don't win as many terms as Moscow Mitch without building support and an understanding of what it takes to keep winning. But it's interesting that so far Mitch has very little to say about McGrath, as with Trump and Biden he's not been able to find a negative attack line that's effective about McGrath (and Mitch is a man who likes a negative smear campaign against others), instead Mitch is going with a similar message to Trump, ignore the opponent, ignore Covid, emphasise the looters and rioters

McGrath has already raised a lot of money, so at minimum she's going to force the GOP into a fight where they would hope to walk home unopposed
That's good news for the Democrats, in my opinion. Booker might be closer to my viewpoint, but in a state like Kentucky, they need a candidate who is as close to the centre ground as possible - the left wing there aren't going to abandon her when there's this much at stake and they need to make a play for as many as possible of the Republican voters who are troubled by Trump and Trumpism but couldn't bring themselves to vote for someone who isn't for guns and country and capitalism. She's pro-stronger immigration controls, pro-2nd amendment, anti-Medicare for all, anti-free tuition, and while she's pro-choice she's leavened that by opposing "late term abortions" (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean). She might be "not a real Democrat" to a lot of the party, but to people who have voted Republican for decades, that makes her an acceptable option rather than a betrayal of everything their America stands for.

Proof, if any more proof was needed, that the code responsible for running 2020 is irretrievably borked and the only solution is to wipe clean and reinstall. Who had Ann Coulter endorsing a Democratic candidate on their bingo card?!

Trump reported to have called Roger Stone and told him he'll commute his sentence, which I suppose isn't quite as bad as a pardon but given Stone is likely to trade/profit on that guilty sentence it still rather stinks

Someoe who is pretty much guaranteed to get all of the Democrat votes in her state and wants to pick up as many Republicans as she can? Having Ann Coulter proves that she's not one of those dangerous liberal Democrats who are coming for their guns and their capitalism.

I get the expediency, but I can't imagine they'll look to build on it.

The dangerous liberal is almost now Biden, following his summit talks with Bernie young Joe has moved left. Not as far as the progressives want, but enough even AOC is at least pleased in part (the climate part more than the rest). But it's a very positive move that the likes of Sanders/AOC can get together with the likes of Kerry/Biden and thrash out some middle ground where neither group gets exactly what they want, it's not the traditional Dems in Disarray narrative.

He's a moron. If you don't see he's a moron,....then you're a moron and probably a fanatical psychopath.

His destruction will be your destruction.

Rigid hierarchy,
Unquestioning obedience,
My country, right or wrong,
Extreme violence,

that kind of thing.

Don’t knock it until you have tried it. Military leadership has a lot going for it; and it’s not as unquestioning as you believe it to be.

It's an unhealthy fetish here.

It is a bit weird. I’ve spent some time in the states and the extra perks veterans get is great at first but it does get odd after a while.

I don’t understand how someone who went out of their way to avoid service in Vietnam can wrap themselves in the patriots flag but that’s just another oddity of the Trump situation.

Someone has fed him a narrative (in between race baiting advice) that the reason the H1N1 siutation in 2009 didn't look so bad for the black dude is because "they stopped testing for it", making the perfectly sound biological assumption that if you can't see it, it isn't there. He has been struggling to present this narrative in cogent form for the past three weeks, and clearly, it has fucked his mechanism.

Heading into the election and 3 1/2 years into the Trump presidency they've made another swing and a miss on the messaging front, this time with Ivanka.

She's promoting a new ad campaign supposedly helping those unemployed (possibly newly unemployed by Trump/Covid) which relies on the rather splendid advice to merely 'Find Something New'

Don't leap back into the first employment you can find, just to pay the rent, take some time and rely on your family's wealth and your trust fund to really reassess your life and decide what career is best for you! Maybe look at using some of your spare cash to start a new business venture! Get creative! Find something New!
