I can’t remember how it was done last year. I think it was free transfers but I’m not sure.

Last year, the playoffs didn't count, did they?

I could be mixing it up with the World Cup.

And in other news my team is decimated without Northampton, Gloucester and then Exeter resting players. I should be lucky to get 200 points this week with only half a team available.

Any Northampton and Glaws players will get you the week's average points, just like in the RWC's cancelled games:
FIXTURE CANCELLATION/POSTPONEMENT
In the event of fixture cancellation before team announcements, average points will be awarded to all players whose teams would otherwise be playing. This average score is that achieved by all starting players throughout a gameweek: it is not determined by position or any other contributing factor, it is simply the average across all starting players. In the instance that teams have been selected and a fixture is cancelled, only those players will earn points; in this case, those selected to start will earn the average points of all remaining starting players, and those selected on the bench will earn the average score of all remaining bench players.

In the event that a fixture is postponed, we will assess the length of any delay, and the impact on the gameweek structure through the remainder of the competition. If information is available, and the fixture can be suitably moved to a different gameweek, we will make the necessary changes. In the event that no postponement is confirmed, or little to no information is available, the fixture will be considered as cancelled.

Might be a blessing in disguise the way Northampton are playing (and I’m a Saints fan).

Some may well score more than their personal averages by not playing....

Yep. They often do actually. I’ve only got Mitchell, Thorley and LRZ, so doesn’t massively affect my squad.

I’m number 1 for the round as it stands. Hopefully it stays that way when the scores are updated!

Cheers! First time I’ve managed it.

I may not stay there if Worcester vs. Sale goes ahead though.

I actually find this round much harder than the normal ones. I'm better at squad and budget management than I am being given a completely free pick (which is basically what this round entails as I didn't find budget any concern). I've assembled a team of all-stars, but christ knows whether it'll be any good or not. I'd imagine I've gone for a very similar squad to just about everyone else in the top 150 with our differences in points coming down to start/bench and captaincy choice.

Yep. Me too. I feel like a lot of what makes this game so good is missing in the play-off rounds.

I imagine everyone’s squads are pretty similar. I run a second team I don’t enter in to our league and I’ve basically gone the opposite way on all my 50/50 calls to see which team wins out.

Pool B

Top of each pool plays cup final next week, the two seconds play for the Plate, the two losers third places go into the bowl final. Time for everyone to go figure out if they want to pick more than one Saint or Glaws player in their starting XVs.

Are we doing this again? I’m ready to right the wrongs of losing in the final last season ...

I’m actually 4th in our league, but considering the top 3 don’t post here, I figure the top 4 is actually 4th to 7th, so me, Puja, Bloggs and Peej in the play offs. Shiny and Switch (is he still around?) for the top 6.

How about:

Pool A

Scrum of the Earth (me)
Reigate Royals (Bloggs)
The Honeybadgers (Shiny)

Pool B

The Pujover Tries (Puja)
London Platypodes (Peej)
Switches Selection (Switch Skier)

Pool B:

London Platypodes - 527pts

Who is Royal Oak Wanderers? Looks like they've got a valid XXIII out, but have received 0 points, which suggests they've fallen foul of the small print and failed to add 5 more squad players to hit the minimum squad size of 28.
