Indeed. I can sort of see the logic behind not wanting to reward the party for putting up another Republican-in-a-blue-tie and hoping another humbling will grant a progressive candidate (not that Harris is actually that progressive, but I digress), but the number of deaths that Trump will cause with another 4 years (not just COVID, but climate, asylum, healthcare, abortion, right-wing terrorism, you name it) surely revokes any ability to claim that you're on the side of good.Digby wrote:If that's their conclusion one hopes only they have the good grace not to complain about TrumpMikey Brown wrote:Jesus Christ. I can understand having problems with Biden, cause there's a lot of them to have. But I don't think you can let perfect be the enemy of not-actively-a-facist in this election. Fight to evict Trump now and then keep campaigning for progressivism.

It's difficult to know where to begin with that. Maybe the hugging and kissing?

Re: Trump
Outstanding work from Fox News claiming they received confidential documents from a source pertaining to Hunter Biden in their NY office, damning documents. Then without taking any copies of said documents they shipped them from their NY office to a location in LA where one Tucker Carlson was waiting with baited [sic] breath (I say that rather than bated as the bait would surely add to the rancid odour) but shock horror, the documents never arrived. Somehow the Deep State gleaned knowledge of the shipping of this particular envelope and intercepted to remove the documents but leave the packaging.
You know this story is true because a man as honest as Tucker went live to air with the news there really were damning documents about Hunter, just there was nothing to actually show anyone, that they didn't take copies, and presumably the Deep State has already offed the source who supplied the really genuine most truest documents ever so they couldn't receive them again.

And if some mentalist militiaman deciders that the deep state has gone too far and does something violent, presumably that’s just too bad?
Something is badly wrong when a mainstream media outlet can make unsubstantiated claims like this without recourse.

If you were Tucker Carlson's boss and observed this was how Tucker envisaged important documentation being handled you'd possibly want to issue a strong warning, or more likely fire him for gross professional misconduct. Because if this story is true it's lamentable thinking and lamentable execution between Tucker and the staff member from the production team.

I'm pretty sure Tucker Carlson's boss probably gave him a pat on the back for a job well done.Digby wrote:If you were Tucker Carlson's boss and observed this was how Tucker envisaged important documentation being handled you'd possibly want to issue a strong warning, or more likely fire him for gross professional misconduct. Fox rarely cares about what it broadcasts and Carlson's report was aimed almost entirely at Trump's base to fan the deep state and rigged election conspiracy theories. As an added bonus, if there's some undecideds who are suspicious of Biden, this kinda shit could help sway them.

I wish I could say I was surprised by this.
I wish I could say that I'm optimistic it'll be thrown out as unonstitutional.

I hope the law is upheld, whether I happen to like the verdict or not.
I would wider point prefer people had been looking seriously about how people were going to vote since Jan/Feb, but that doesn't speak to a specific case here and now (unless it does in ways I don't appreciate)
