Just a thought, is this our best attacking back three for 20 years? Hogg, Maitland, Seymour was possibly more rounded and definitely more experienced but if any one of these three get one on one with some space, I back them.

You're forgetting about the Southwell/Danielli/Walker combination. But they are pretty exciting.

Ireland showing that Wales are pretty bad right now. The same Ireland recently owned by France. So as nice as it was to finally win down there, we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves.

Nikki Walker should have been so much better than he was.

Equally, thought Ireland looked pretty sharp. New 9 and Lowe on the wing gave them a bit more spark.

I've been saying for about a decade that Wales' players are average and they just get lucky. I'm going to claim that this year proves me right.

It’s a bit early for that. Absolutely lethal in terms of attacking potential, but lets make sure Duhan isn’t another Visser first.

If either winger can get on Hogg’s wavelength in the same way Seymour could it could be a real match winner though.

really is a very premature, and TBH back 3 only shine of the rest of the team deliver, so its an impossible comparison.

Individually taking your one on one in space comment Hogg is common to both sets, but isn't quite as quick as a few seasons back, Graham and VDM are very different players from Seymour and Maitland. Seymour could also beat men for fun and had an excellent chip over/round he last man, but both these guys proved to be immensely good all round footballers, great positioning in attack and defence, support runners and passers with terrific work rates. Both very capable at full back for example.
DVDM will score tries I've no doubt, but he will never be the player those 2 were in any other aspect. Graham could be.

Edit - further thought on DVDM. Watch James Lowe. No idea why but I don't like the guy  but when he beats a 1 on 1 its usually by bull dozing them, much like DVDM. But the ability to draw a man and pass, kick, all sorts of kicks, and ability to pop up all over the park, phenomenal work rate - all miles above DVDM.

I thought both sides were poor. Wales have a number of top players who have passes their peak but still getting picked because they don't have the quality to replace them. Coaching looks a bit iffy as do selections. Suppose TBF to Ireland it wasn't their best XV out there, but enough to do a job on a poor Welsh side They also need to move on from Sexton and Murray very soon, especially Sexton

So if France against Fiji is called off, does that mean that we get the French A team next week? They're only allowed to play three matches in this series due to the agreement with French rugby, but I assume that a cancelled game doesn't count?

I think that we probably lose either way, so would like to see where we really are against Dupont and that back row with 15 men on the pitch.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THOSE SHORTS???

I hope Nigel Owens isn't reffing this one, he'll be too distracted to blow his, er, whistle

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Galthié didn’t even bother formally naming a team and sent the players back to their clubs. I think that means he can pretty much pick whom he wants next week.

Have just seen SHC is on the bench. Suppose a european cup will do that for you!

Pretty cagey start.

Cummings with probably the first daft thing I’ve seen him do in a Scotland shirt.

Can Amazon just give us the highlights, please? I’d like to know more about what Eddie Jones has for breakfast and how Georgia are really quite good, actually.

Sutherland must be the reason for that scrum there. Hope it’s not too bad - looked heavily strapped so I do wonder whether he should have played.

That scrum a result of Sutherland being injured? Are we down two members of the pack already?

Ref tells Scotland, we just spoke... says it all. He just told you what not to do and you've done it again giving them an easy 3 points.
