I guess it means Dunn actually gets his £23k.

If that's the case, I'd rather get 30 seconds and £23k, than 0 seconds and £0k.

Regarding time in camp, he’s been with England on and off quite a long time now hasn’t he? Eddie puts a lot of emphasis on that familiarity and knowledge of the setup, but I guess he’s still not doing something that EJ is after.
Well yes. And I didn’t introduce throwing toys out the pram, but you do seem jolly upset for him.
That’s a no then.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was genuinely Eddie's motivation (for Dunn and for the others he's done it to previously). Doesn't actually rate him or want to bring him on, just has him as filling a gap on the bench as an emergency option in case of injury, but is entertained by the idea of costing the blazers money/getting someone paid money for nothing.

The other players in the squad will also think it a poor move not to get someone their appearance fee

Pretty sure everyone in the 23 gets the full payment whether they come on or not.

Think you are taking it a bit seriously tbh. No one actually knows his current state of mind. I was agreeing with you on the EJ verdict.

And he gets capped. Which was clearly a big deal for him each time.

Somebody should quantify the value of a cap to a post career CV. I bet it's worth a bit.

Taking what a bit seriously? The conversation about Dunn or the nauseating interaction that followed it? I was interested what other people thought about the Dunn situation and whether it was worth having more of a look at our third choice option. I did say I’d be pissed off if I were him (which I’m not, just to be clear) but was fairly happy other than that.

I did admittedly find the exchange afterwards incredibly irritating, so I guess you win or something.

Anyway...

And throwing toys out was merely a reference to how he could possibly react to LCD coming in and him dropping out of the matchday squad, NOT that he had thrown his toys out.

But this is fun to watch anyway.

In the late 80's I had a role in the stage version of Grease. Even though my execution of the lyric; 'You are supreme, the chicks'll cream, for greased lightnin' was an audible delight it did little to influence my career path post treading the boards.

That said my then ensemble is still a joy to sport during those dark winter nights when loneliness creeps in.

England head coach Eddie Jones insists his creative midfield will not be “wearing dinner jackets” against Wales who will face an unprecedented intensity during Saturday’s match in Llanelli, he warned.

Fly-half George Ford starts in the only change from England’s 18-7 victory over Ireland that puts them in pole position to book their place in the final of Autumn Nations Cup on Dec 6. He forms a midfield with fellow distributors Owen Farrell and Henry Slade who start together for the first time since England’s tour to South Africa in 2018.

With Ollie Lawrence dropping out of the squad with a hip problem and Manu Tuilagi already injured, England lack a hard-running ball carrier in the backline, but Jones is confident his midfield can mix power and panache. “The three guys who are playing, none of them will be playing in dinner suits,” Jones said.

“They all run, carry and tackle. Playmakers play in dinner suits. They are not playmakers. None of Ford, Farrell, Slade play in dinner suits. They all run and get tackled. The whole word ‘playmaker’ suggests they [only] make plays. They have got to run, they have to kick, they have to tackle.

With 807 caps, this will be the most experienced England team of all time, although Jones has made further changes among the replacements with flanker Jack Willis, hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie and full-back Anthony Watson receiving recalls in a 6-2 split of forwards and backs.

“We’ve picked the best 23 players for the battle and we’re looking forward to it greatly,” Jones said. “There is no better test than playing an underdog Welsh side at the home of Llanelli rugby where they have had some of their greatest victories.”

Despite dominating defensive performance against Ireland, Jones says that England will need to go up another level against a Wales team that had lost six consecutive matches before grinding out a win against Georgia last week. “We have to make sure we are 100 percent ready to go at the start of the game and play with an intensity that Wales have never faced before,” Jones said.

“That’s where we want to be and that’s where we are going to have to be to beat Wales. They have been sitting around all week with people talking about England and the challenge they will bring so they have been prodded and been told their coach is under pressure. There will be a lot of desire and intent. We will have to play at a higher intensity than we did against Ireland to deal with these blokes.”

In contrast to Wales’ form, England appear to be cruising after six straight wins. Jones, however, warned that appearances can be deceptive, like a duck serenely gliding on the surface but furiously paddling under the water. He is quick to cite the example of last year’s World Cup where England fell short in the final against South Africa after delivering their best performance of the Jones’ era in the semi-final victory against New Zealand.

“We were on it for maybe 60 minutes of the Ireland game but not for 80 minutes,” Jones said. “We want our attitude to be spot on at the start of the game and for as long as we can during the game. You always have to look at how you can tidy it up. We have got a lot of problems here. We are sorting out problems every day. There’s always problems there. We are not a team that is humming along and is like a big V8 that is revving down the highway. We are always trying to fix those problems.

“It is like going from the semi-final of the World Cup where everyone is saying you’re fantastic but you’re not fantastic as we found out in the World Cup final. We are taking that approach for this game. We know we are not fantastic. We know we have to play with more intensity.” -ends-

I'm very surprised that "run" comes before "kick" in that sentence.

Note this phrase. The inevitable result of trying to run is getting tackled - it would've been better for them to have kicked. Therefore, it is run (mistake), then kick, then they have to do the tackling.

Either that, or Slade's been learning how to run a crash ball line in training.
