Don’t forget to include Darcy Graham with your attacking saviours, every time he gets the ball he’s looking to make something happenCameo wrote:I'm just hoping Jones comes off the bench and blows them away. I'm worried I am building him and Finn Russell up as the saviours of attacking rugby.

Watson has been restedGeneral Zod wrote:Maybe Watson’s just rested? He’s played some tough games recently and has 2 in Europe (plus an 1872?) to come.
Looking forward to seeing that back row. And can’t wait to see the D in vDw!
Actually, Taylor and Harris could be a thing too.
Taylor and Harris are picked to defend the 2 big Irish centres

reading round the rugby press this week, there is a load of stuff about how boring the rugby has been in this series. No-one playing a load of rugby, everyone licking a lot, not over committing to a ruck (they do jackal if its on) - but ruck pens are such a risk no one wants to play in their own half. Law tweaks have meant coaches have decided that its much easier for the jackaller, so in defence playin the opponents half, box kick us to death, anything but risk a kickable ruck pen, or kickable to the corner for a difficult to defend illegal lineout.Cameo wrote:I'm just hoping Jones comes off the bench and blows them away. we are seeing teams happier to play without the ball - and odd thing for those of us who always thought if you had the ball the opposition can't score.
International teams are playing like an Italian football team of the 60's and 70s.
Not just Scotland. Even the French who are the best to watch, kick shed loads more than you might expect

Long threads on the other boards on this. I'm all for making sure we enforce the offside line too (and not against other rule changes) but I'm wary of jumping to conclusions. I wouldn't be surprised if some teams at least have a new plan by the 6N.
If ours involves Finn, Jones, DVDM, Graham and Hogg then I'm excited.

I'm a massive Ritchie fan but sometimes he just needs to think for a second before his actions.

All fine players but unfortunately our 'plan' will simply be to give it to Finn and expect him to do somethingCameo wrote:Long threads on the other boards on this. It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Two penalties on Ritchie already. Maybe feeling the pressure to generate turnovers without his partner in crime.Big D wrote:Sloppy start.

Re: Autumn Squad
How big was that kick from our 10? What's his longest penalty, cos that would've gone gone over from 60m if it had been straight

I'm interested to see how VdW will go under a coach who will challenge him differently.
Nice to see Gray bounce someone there too.

Is it just me or are we not playing too badly here? It might just be Ireland making lots of mistakes tho

Hahahaha when will I learn not to jinx us? Fraser Brown does tend to give away stupid penalties.

Did anyone else think there was a high shot on VDW just before that?

Some of our runners are taking the ball at pace. I don’t know what’s got into them.

[emoji16][emoji3061] sorry, I should've learned a long time ago but I didn't, still haven't. In fairness we marched down field a got a penalty with a great passage of play immediately after, so, y'know...General Zod wrote:Nice one, mate.Donny osmond wrote:Is it just me or are we not playing too badly here? Need to make this good spell count. Lots of good territory here but not a huge amount to show for it

Hopefully that penalty is Price's brain fart for the day.
Cummings has been immense this half.

One of the Ireland replacements was drawing on his shirt with what looked like a highlighter pen. What was it actually? Something to stick to the ball?
