But I don't care about Saints so I'm not fussed if they're struggling, whereas limited numbers of EQP does attract my attention and indeed derision. And has drawn derision when other clubs have pulled the same stunt

And yet we don't have limited numbers of EQP, so I really don't get your point? We didn't loose to Bordeaux because we had limited numbers of EQP in our back line. We lost because 4 or 5 Saints players stood still watching a ball come off the posts and bounce without anyone owning and claiming it. The closest of which, Henry Taylor, is EQ.

My point was that in this game you didn't pick enough EQP, so I'm pleased you lost. Or at least I'm amused you lost, pleased might be the wrong word as I don't know I have enough invested in the game to care enough to be pleased.
And you didn't just lose because of the bounce of a ball, the failings were myriad and frequent

I mean we literally did lose because of that. Yes we should have converted all the possession in their 22 and been further ahead, but if someone claimed that ball we wouldn't have lost

Weird. Boyd has put plenty of faith in young players during his time at Saints. You really are picking on the wrong club.Digby wrote:My point was that in this game you didn't pick enough EQP, so I'm pleased you lost. I’m a Quins fan so I have no allegiance to Saints - just stating the facts rather than something to suit an inaccurate narrative.

In fact many argue that our lack of success may boil down to having too much reliance on the young guys coming out of the academy and not backing them up with some experienced outsidersScrumhead wrote:Weird. I looked at one lineup in one game. It didn't have many English players, they lost, that amused me. The only thing in that which surprises me is I even bothered to look at their lineup.Scrumhead wrote:Weird. Boyd has put plenty of faith in young players during his time at Saints. I make and made no comment beyond the one lineup and result of one game, well other than their club colours are awful but they should obviously never be allowed to change them, and that playing in winter they seem to be having some problems they weren't facing in the summer

OK, but there were probably better ways of making your point without coming across in the way you did.

Not really, no. At least it’s not about Eddie Jones or Owen Farrell.

Unfortunately not... we’re multi-seasonal in our ability to lose games...Digby wrote:playing in winter they seem to be having some problems they weren't facing in the summer

Lord no. And I can't claim to be exactly watching many Saints games this season, I think I'm now up to one, just the thought had occurred some of the patterns which were working well in summer will be much harder to to replicate nowScooby wrote:Unfortunately not... we’re multi-seasonal in our ability to lose games...Digby wrote:playing in winter they seem to be having some problems they weren't facing in the summer
