Then find the candidates and vote them in. America just voted in a centrist however, and hardly their first one, so it's a tricky path to plot and follow to go for a full reset.morepork wrote: We don't need another centrist corporate jaunt down the middle of the river, we need a complete fucking reset.

Re: Trump
I suppose we should be grateful that:
Trump is basically lacking any physical courage;
Trump is incompetent; and
Enough public servants in the US take their oath to the constitution seriously and try to be impartial.
This could have been a whole lot worse.
As it stands, it must surely be grounds for invoking the 25th amendment?
I was in 2 minds about whether Trump should just be ignored once Biden takes over. But after this, I can't see any good reason not to prosecute him. Theres definitely enough counts of inciting a riot, a few manslaughter charges maybe and at a stretch something about rebellion/insurrection. Whatever, the principal that you accept an election result once any concerns have been robustly challenged must be defended.

IIRC, The Capitol Cops did ask for the national guard - but whoever it is in the Trump administration (Secretary of Defence?) refused

Not his shout. Unless federalised, the NG are controlled by State Governors and I believe that a small number (c300) NG were deployed ahead of the riot.Which Tyler wrote:IIRC, The Capitol Cops did ask for the national guard - but whoever it is in the Trump administration (Secretary of Defence?) refused

DC is not part of any state and is a Federal District, under the jurisdiction of the government.

Good point, so presumably the president need to call out the guard? I believe some 300 were deployed, but obviously not enough security forces overall to contain that.morepork wrote:Sandydragon wrote:Not his shout. I believe that the NG in Washington DC is an MP battalion. I doubt there's much more there so presumably any additional NG reinforcements would need to come from neighbouring states?

The DC NG is under the president’s authority, I think the secretary of the Army has direct chain of command over them.Sandydragon wrote:Good point, so presumably the president need to call out the guard? The DC major can (and did) ask for other states to send NG under some mutual assistance act. New York is sending some, for example. Cuomo is always talkative, so everyone knows real time. I heard Virginia already sent some as well yesterday.

The mayor requested the national guard a couple of days ago, and the Pentagon agreed. They seemed to be fasionably late to the party last night though.
DC has a very large Park guard (read: government militia for government land), who were called up with ease to tear gas BLM protestors so Trump could get a photo of himself standing outside a church with his cartoon hard man face on.
BLM protests for civil rights in a park = drop the hammer
(white) domestic terrorists storming government buildings = let them in with minimal resistance
That right there is the administrations priority, and the number of white power signs being thrown by the terrorists yesterday tells you all you need to know about that.

Asking where all the cops were yesterday is like asking where Bowie is whilst Ziggy's on stage

It's blatant isn't it. For me it is the worst effect of this administration, the attack on civil rights and the nurturing of white grievance. Trump is basically a terrorist sympathiser. Now we have a radicalised highly motivated domestic threat to deal with in the immediate future. All perfectly predictable and avoidable. They bang on about the "radical left" with religious and 2nd amendment props for theatre, but the only radicals now are these fucking militia cosplay Q anon cunts. Fuck me.

I wonder if the blame really lies on those individuals, particularly the two security leads for the houses.

Re: Trump
And because it's Trump he can't help in all this but advance the case for DC statehood. Which obviously is against his wishes and to the detriment of his own party (well sort of the party he purports to support). How he's come in far in life I don't know, there are bags of spanners with more going on upstairs

This very kind of fucking thing happened in Michigan, back in fucking April, while that Baby Sinclair-looking AG chose instead to bounce on their dicks instead of taking any sort of action. You know, because it's a bunch of white cunts.
Meanwhile, noted chud smoothbrians Baked Alaska and Elijah Schaffer decided to broadcast to the world that they were involved.
The former livestreamed himself in Nancy Pelosi's office, because he's a fucking dumbass
and the latter, because he's a fucking smoothbrain dickshit, tweeted photographic evidence of his involvement before deleting it when he realised what he did.
What a real cryin' shame that someone went and got a screenshot of it. Oops.
Edit: almost forgot - Baked Alaska has tested positive for COVID-19, just to add to the hilarity of this pathetic smoothbrain fuck.
