We've all know for many years that all of our national newspapers are running at a massive loss (even The Guardian and The Independent).
They have huge mounting debt from which none of them will ever recover. Print is a dead industry but like a wounded animal they are still very dangerous. Owned by specious and nefarious organizations of corporate psychopaths and yet their presence somehow is reassuring to many people as a representation of continuity and familiarity. How would your old Dad feel if his daily copy of The Times, The Telegraph, The Express, The Mail, The Guardian or even The FT were to disappear in the same fashion as The News of the World.
So when GB News launched a couple of years ago, I didn't think much about it. Andrew Neil said GBNews had enough money to broadcast for 6 months after which the station would have to pay for itself through advertising revenue. £60 million. 3 months after they launched Andrew Neil left the channel claiming it was a farce. Talk TV was launched earlier this year and it's the same brand of scum

I have been watching a bit of GBNews and TalkTV, by way of keeping an open mind, and their advertising revenue is bollocks. So, I decided to do a bit of research to see if the internet could tell me who was actually funding these opinion channels that are masquerading as news outlets.

If you don’t know what a TERF is, despite having posted previously in the TERF thread, then that’s on you, not me.

I looked up "TERF".. sounds derogatory, did you mean it that way, cashead? OR, can I possibly be just a woman, stating my feeling, life experience as a woman, and opinions stemming from my experiences? I also went through the thread you spoke of (from 2019), looking for "TERFy shit" that I "have a habit of posting". I could not find anything, other than saying that I, as a woman, am uncomfortable being referred to as a "cis-female". I stand by that, still. I am just a woman, or female. Also, any even slight google should tell you that TERF is not an insult, but is actually coined by the people who wanted to be known as that. Personally, I'm a fan of the term FART (Feminism Appropriating Reactionary Transphobe), which is far more enjoyable and accurate, but I do tend to prefer letting people choose their own label.

Claiming TERF as an insult is a form of faux-moral outrage about how mean the other people are being when you're *just* *asking* *questions* - oh so hurtful, so much for the tolerant left! I mean, I'm assuming you wouldn't know anything about such tactics, given you are *genuinely* an innocent naif who is just asking questions. So, rest assured, referring to you as a TERF is not the place where people are insulting you.

TERFs named themselves. Plus, it's not used as an insult in terms of it meaning something else or something untrue to the wielder. It means exactly the same to me as it does to a TERF - they discriminate against a minority because they think they're awful and don't want them to exist - we both are calling the same thing the same thing, the difference is that I think that it's reprehensible and they think it's fine.
