Arundell rested. Parton's been injured and is close to a return.

Strong looking Sale pack, so could be a long evening. Primary interest from a LI point of view is Fa’aso’o making his first appearance at 8. Not a household name, but was a real weapon at Brive last season. Hopefully some of that can carry over to the prem.

Imagine Arundell might be given a break.

Is Manu crocked again?

Suspect the Sale pack will be too strong nut Irish never fail to entertain.
Interested to see how Carpenter goes. Early reports are very encouraging. Great to see Quirke starting.

If Sam Hill could hold on to the ball he’d be playing very well.

Absolute specimen isn't he - did commentary just say he's 19 as well?!

Gonzalez is the most chaotic player I’ve seen play in a professional rugby match since Jonny May thought he was possessed by a chicken.

Typical LI Friday night away performance against a decent team.

Pretty poor all round.

Cunningham-South is all action and probably has a fairly high ceiling given how physical he is for his age. Still has another year to go with Eng U20s.

Irish never really got going i felt. Cunningham-South is certainly an all action kind of player. One to watch.

Comfortable enough win for Sale. Quirke was tidy.

Quirke arrives at the ruck with his whole body in position to fire out an instant pass. That sounds so simple but Youngs has never managed it.

To be fair I think finding grass with a chip like that is always going to cause havoc for the defence, lucky with the bounce though I guess. Was very impressed with him in general.

I've only seen the highlights and it's not how quick he gets the ball away because he does pause when he gets there. It's the speed and precision of the pass, absolutely top notch that invites the attack onto the ball.

And no Ben Youngs can't pass like that.
