Match thread: Wales vs France

Post by UKHamlet »

Do I watch GogTV or ToryTV Wales?

GogTV starts 15 minutes earlier, but that is countered by the fact that I only understand about 10-15% of what they're saying. On the other hand Invercnt is on ToryTV Wales.

On the bright side, BBC has Ali Williams slagging off all things northern hemisphere. So that's nice.

Martyn Williams was an intelligent rugby player and that's coming through in his punditry.

I believe the apposite vernacular rejoinder to be "Word".

I think the commentary was sound - but the clips just looked like they were playing flankers badly from set pieces when Tips was on, and less so when Lydiate was…

France are trying, but they're not quite clicking.

They're making mistakes. We're not taking advantage. Hope that's not the story of the game.

Vakatawa is terrible under the high ball… I guess playing 7s does that to you

Hope England are taking note (though we don't have Biggar…)!

This is not quite the epic game I had been hoping for, I'll be honest. Bit scrappy. Needs a try or mass brawl to spark things into life.

Wales are barely competent without being threatening, France have been absolutely woeful but if they click like they did in that last phase & score a couple of tries somehow anything could happen
