Maybe not a massive deal but isn't one of Wilson's big things being great at controlling the ball at the back, would have thought he and Strauss would be the other round but I doubt the game will come down to that.

Same feelings as everyone else with Laidlaw/Berghan/Weir.

Lets hope Jones is up to speed. Shame for Scott.

Weir is the sensible choice, he's plan B if plan A doesn't work. If we had a like for like Flyhalf cover, and the attack wasn't working, we would have nowhere to go. We do that too often.

Team looks good though.

Happy with that. Slightly sceptical about Jones' match fitness and a little worried about the front row but generally good calls. I feel for Barclay but he'll play a part in the tournament

Pleased that Brown is starting. Ireland are great in the back-row (proper cheating buggers) so think Browns strength over the ball will be important if we're going to get that losing bonus point.

Alan Dell is very good at steeling ball as well.

Like the look of our lot. Our whole front row are auxiliary flankers (mind you the problems could start when it comes to the pushing and shoving bit...) and we've got balance for the lineout.

Think we might get a couple of meat pies on Saturday.

Obviously a couple less than the Irish juggernaut.

That makes sense in theory but in practice I just dont think Weir does provide a Plan B. Even if we were resort to a purely kicking game I would prefer Russell. Weir is probably the only option as backup though and I like the guy so hope he can get some kind of form going

Think the set piece will be fairly evens but Ireland will smash us in the back row if we let them.

Considering how awesome Munster forwards have been there is 1 in the pack, 2 ulster and 5 Leinster. Now I think Leinster have been pretty good this season they ain't been a patch on Munster in the pack.

I know lots of people rate Henderson but I don't. I think we have a better second row and if we can isolate toner think the Irish line out could be shakey.

Henshaw, Zebo, Murray are all class but I'd like to see us give ringrose a hard time if possible. Also if Keith Earls could fall over and break everything a few mins before kick off that would be awesome but let's be honest they will still try and say we choked him, tacked him or called him a potato munching leprechaun.

Basically what a wee fud

His international form is usually good, when he has decent teammates around him. At times he does not shine in a poor Ulster pack on the back foot, where he has too much to do trying to pick up the pieces. Looking forward to the Henderson v. J.Gray head to head. Re. Lineout - Ireland will miss O'Mahony who's a dab hand at nicking opponents ball, but I doubt that the lineout will be the deciding factor.

Thing is eventually you get to the point where you run out of excuses for Henderson, had loads of potential and if he had moved to Leinster or Munster early in his career may have been better than he was but now he just isnt as good

He looks good in an ulster pack because Ulster are not very good but would he even be close to the Irish 23 if you had Cullen, DOC, POC available

I think its only fair we try and target Connor o Murray as much as possible, I want to see him throw a hissy fit especially the blind side and the standing leg, if we can do it in front of Keith Earls all the better

So is the word poofters
It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Quietly optimistic. Win or lose I just hope the lads show the performance they're capable of at international level.

Edinburgh loose by one point, U20s loose by one point and the ladies loose owing to a try deep into injury time. Hope a pattern isn't developing.

Means nothing of course but the BBC poll has us as third favourites to win the 6N.

People seem to be under estimating the French I think. We rarely win over there. We also rarely win more than 2 games.

I have a bad feeling about this game. Which may be the thought about having to.listen to Nicol.

Good luck to my (sort of) mate Simon on the bench today. Went to school with him. Another Sydenham boy makes good.
