I wouldn't mind Farndale being given a crack at the big time. He is clearly fast but also powerful. If he has no room he is quite prepared to try and run through or over a tackler.

Shame there wasn't a Caley side. Would be playing some promising players in it getting regular game time. 2 Fagersons (ZJRF plays enough already tbf), 2 Hornes (ok Peter isn't young), McCallum, Wynne, Smith, Flockhart etc.
They'd get f*cking thumped. Once Edinburgh has a squad that rivals Glasgow's in terms of quality & depth then it might be a viable option.

I look at that Edinburgh squad and shake my head at how badly it has performed. It should be pushing for top 6/7 and has been underperforming for years. If you compare their backrow depth (Du Preez, Watson, Hardie, Bradbury, Ritche, even Mata) to Glasgow's (Strauss, Fusaro, Harley, a perma crocked Favaro, Wilson) Edinburgh's was much better IMHO. Hopefully a new coaching regime will bring some respect back to them as a team.
I don't think a Connacht style development team need be decades away. In 2 years time if Edinburgh is properly competitive, finishing top 6 with respectable crowds and Glasgow qualify for the play-offs and the quarter finals of the European Cup then that to me would be the time to take that next step.

I wasn't really saying there should be a Caley side. Just nice to see few young Caley lads stepping up and looking handy.

Very true, and if you look at the players taht just Stirling county has developed in the professional era, you could argue that more talent has come out of the Caley region than has Edinburgh or the Lothians

Beat Russia this morning. On now v Argentina. Win and we're through to defend our trophy.
Also, in relation to bringing players through, I really think Sevens is going to get very big worldwide and we need to get on it. It's a great way of getting people involved in the game.

We'll be through but facing either Fiji or NZ i think which is one of the worst draws we could get.
George Horne is one hell of a player.

That's almost a carbon copy of Robertson's try last week! Great score.

Beat Argentina. 26-17 or 19 if they get the conversion.

And now we're capitulating. Good defence to get the turnover 5m out though.

We were f*cking shocking. In reality we lost that because the team kept doing bizarre no-look passes that went nowhere. France picked up 2-3 of them (free possession) and the others just slowed down the attack. Awful.

I agree. Seven's is not the time to flair. We should have played for the corners and tried not to embarrass ourselves

Never embarrass yourself.
Today is the day we batter the kiwis.

Which was the last of the composure we showed.
Great comeback Scotland. Well deserved.

Is that the first time we have beaten NZ in men's senior 7s or 15s?
Either way: get. The. Fock. In.

Twitter says first 7s win (49 matches since 1973). There's been no 15s win, just a couple of draws.
Not sure about women's or age group stuff.

Good to see the inventors of the game do well. What times your next match?
