Turn the sound off and appreciate Metcalfe gliding.

While I am at it, nugget:

I think Metcalfe was one of my favourite Scottish players. We didn't have him long as he was in his mid-20s when he turned up in Scotland but he was an incredible runner and had ferocious defence. The France game was one of the few times Scotland were really able to use him effectively which was frustrating. Two Metcalfe moments I remember but can't find online: a great try vs Argentina in a losing game at Murrayfield and vs NSW Waratahs in Scotland's tour of Oz in 1998 when the quickest player in the NSW squad breaks the line 60yds out and the Aussie commentators assume its a try but Metcalfe hauled him in a tackled him into touch, they just couldn't believe it.
Bit off topic but I am fairly sure he rolled up in this old chestnut (which I have on video somewhere):

Interestingly, or not, Humpohreys was in the Telegraph talking about how the French THs scrum on an angle and we need to be able to handle that better. Claimed they saw what Furlong was up to and countered it in the second half. I only remember one scrum in that second half and it was a pretty decent one by Scotland.

Was it v SA in the 99 world cup where Leslie went off injured? Pretty sure we were leading at the time, but ended up losing. Our tournament went straight down the crapper from there.

Remember Metcalfe for the against Fiji in this video. Got a feeling that if Fiji had scored Scotland would have been out in the pool stages.

Very excited about today. A win would mean a lot.

None of our teams have won this weekend. Not confident.

We're gonna have to do a Glasgow and move that big pack about. If we play with the intensity of the first half last week the French will be blowing out their arse.

I appreciate the plan, but question Scotland's capacity to turn up for a second game.

I don't think we've ever played that badly in Paris in the last few years.

2015 summer warm up & 6N are the last two games. We pushed them all the way in the 6N with some real guff in the team - Fife, Cowan, Visser, Cross, etc. RWC warm up was a lot better and could have gone either way IMO.

I'm always right big man... Then again, I think the shorts I wear on match day effect the outcome of international rugby games.

I have some boxer shorts with cockerels printed on them and put them on this morning. Mrs. Zod made me take them off and put on a blue pair. We shall see if she's right.

We all have/had stupid wee quirks like that wee man. I had to tough the top of every door way from our home changing room to the pitch. Pointless really.

It why I'm wearing my combats to the pub today seeing as I was on exercise last weekend. Not sure if I'm allowed in with a rifle though. All for the greater good though.

This game can't come fast enough. I may regret this come 60 or 70 mins in...

It would certainly ensure no one would change the channel to the Rangers game while you nipped to the loo..

Peyper not interested in hands in the ruck. Can't really blame the lads for that, a ruck was formed. Done well to get the pen after, good position now.
