I just don't see the big deal at all. He's clearly not being that serious. I don't get why anybody wouldn't hate the English really.

I'd think the gulf between the two teams is far too big for any perceived slights like this to really come in to it. Most of these England players will be playing in the hopes of clinging on to their place in the side and hopefully restoring a bit of pride.

I think hate is a word adults should be a bit careful about flinging about. Particularly around something that is supposed to be just sport. But yes, it's a storm in a teacup.

Not even that, just a daft thing to say. Anything that makes a team talk easier is a bit pointless to me.

I mean, yeah, but it’s words written down. Listen to the guy talk for three seconds and I can’t imagine anyone would be bothered. If the players are in any way focused on this then the problems are probably worse than I thought.

What would they really even say in a team talk anyway? Sure you embarrassed yourselves and your country last week, breaking records with how utterly shite you all were, but get a load of this, Mack Hansen says he hates you. Mean, huh? He also said you’re all good guys but whatever.

For anybody that didn’t see it:

I hope we’re more worried about what he’s doing on the field than his media training.

I wasn’t really sure about him at first but he was a nightmare against Scotland as a roaming second playmaker, but actually with enough pace to be a threat as a runner too. A bit like how Daly is used for Saracens, and would love to see him used off the wing for a England, but with Nowell-esque breakdown skills.

We go back to Carling getting disciplined for saying at a press conference something like he hated the Scots more than they hated the English (when asked what he thought of the Scots hating the English). Jeffrey was NOT disciplined by the SRU for the initial statement.

I don't know what else to say- in a side that needs some passion alongside some of the technical fixes, an element of everyone hates us and we don't care may add some fuel to the fire; I sure wouldn't be going down the don't embarrass yourselves again route....but a positive fire and brimstone go out and smash em up 'free swing' approach (whilst remembering all we've done this week) allied with a spin on, they hate us and think we aren't much cop might be handy, depending on who is delivering it etc etc. Its a pretty shitty thing to say- and imagine the reaction had Snotty Baldrick said that about the Irish.
We ain't gonna agree though :) :). And I'm likely talking old skool bollox :)

Pity to lose Chessum. Think he's done pretty well so far. Should open the door for Ribbans to start.

The idea that OHC is better than Freeman based on their handful of caps is Surely Balderdash.

George Martin was benched at the weekend because he missed the start of the week's training. Swervy Boythroyd has clearly been having a look at his inclusion for a little while.

Has he got a chance? He looks the type to take to test rugby. Or being named a Finisher and getting splinters in his arse going to remain his only sniff at this stage?
Playing better than Hill and got to offer more than Isiekwe

What’s Martin’s carrying like and has he any explosiveness?
(A quality that would add value to second row).

Absolutely mullered Jordy Reid (a big powerful 6 if you don't know him) with a carry in the game at the weekend, but I'm not sure how frequent a thing that is. I know that seems to be his approach to tackling for sure.

We don't get one every game like that from him, cause that one was a bit special, but he's normally a go-to man when we want go-forward ball.
