Given what I've just seen in the England v Samoa game, Wales did well.

Maybe we should have thrown that game, so we could have had England in the quarters.pompey-zebra wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 7:02 pm Given what I've just seen in the England v Samoa game, Wales did well.

And when I say 'had England' I mean with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.pompey-zebra wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 7:28 pmSon of Mathonwy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 7:18 pmMaybe we should have thrown that game, so we could have had England in the quarters.pompey-zebra wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 7:02 pm Given what I've just seen in the England v Samoa game, Wales did well.

Yeah, weird isn’t it? A clear win but it felt a bit flat. Fair play to Georgia who put everything into that game but shipping three tries was disappointing.pompey-zebra wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 3:55 pmI suppose winning by 20 odd points and still being dissatisfied isnt a bad position to be in.
I don’t think Gatland will be too happy with that.

Overall a good result, but injuries are worrying.
Costelow is still learning, we really needed Biggar or Anscombe for game management.
Samoa let a win escape against England, Samoa looked the better side overall.

That's always the way with these Tier 2 games, though.Sandydragon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 9:25 pm

Anything other than an uninterrupted procession to 80 points, feels like a damp squib.
But if you'd said "Wales 43-19" this morning, we'd have been well happy.
Sure there were bumps in the road, but as others have already said; how often have WE been the bumps in someone else's road, and no-one gave a damn but us?
