Ford kicking too much but we aren’t getting any forward momentum. Mobile back 5 of pack but don’t seem to have any punch

Spencer keeps giving him terrible passes that make him have to stop and reach back to grab them - he's been left with no option but to step back and kick.

Atkinson fucks up a pass - it's not an easy one, but it's the kind of thing which will count against him when Dingwall's available, along with the missed tackle for the second French try.

Beard on to the wing. Maybe, Slade to FB would have been better.

On-pitch mike picks up someone shouting "Fucking YES Beardo!" at the sight of that ball's trajectory. Better commentary than anything that the TV people have done so far.

How the fuck was our kick-chase that bad? ...and as I type that, the replay shows me it's Dombrandt making an instant impact by getting himself in entirely the wrong position, on the wrong side and being blocked off by the French players.

Ope - potential reprieve?

Dombrandt really doing his best to live down to the board's opinion of him today, huh? The pass from Spencer was shit again, but he needs to be holding those. Great response to run the dropout back hard though.

ETA. The try's not a bad response either, although it was a walk-in. I think I'm a minute or so behind everyone else!

It's logical - doesn't look like much, but because it's a shoulder charge, there's no mitigation available so it's just direct contact to the head = red card. He's unlucky, but it's letter of the law.

What a simple canter over versus dropping a sitter two seconds before.
Meanwhile hill shows his gas, then fucking kicks it

Given how dire Spencer's passing has been, I'm more upset about him getting to stay on than I am about Quirk being on the wing.

Fair play Slade - carried out both halves of the "A good chase can make a good kick out of a bad one" adage there.

We are committing zero French defenders to the breakdown and generally then run sideways until someone kicks it

Then Slade should have kicked it but didnt
