He stayed at Saracens a season or two too long. Once Saracens started to consolidate their place among Europe's elite he was always going to fall away. He's a good player but not -that- good. I've mentioned it before but would love to see him at LS - even on loan.

On a related note, Hamilton is on the bench for Sarries & Jackson on the bench for Wasps.

Denton gets a rare start at 6 for Bath although it looks like it is more due to an availability crisis. Mafi injured, Hooper retired and Faosiliva suspended. I can only assume Louw & Garvey are also unavailable as they do not make the 23.

He's been mentioned a few posts back as well, mate. The issue is he does not appear to be interested. If he is then it should be a priority to get him on the tour this summer and get him capped if possible.

Are you saying the WRU/RFU don't think he's big enough? I've seen him play this season, he's not a tank by any means by he's a decent sized unit. Looks to be over 6 foot - has a very similar built to Bennett. Bear in mind that England capped 5 foot 6 Kyle Eastmond not all that long ago so that's a little odd.

Given our ridiculous depth at centre, I would say no. I haven't seen him play wing.

He could be a bit of a turnstile but I thought some of his best stuff was at fly half. Removing his options to box kick or simply stand/wait/point at people seemed to force him to play the ball which he's actually not too bad at.

Interesting indeed. It looks like they don't have any 10s available but having said that the Gloucester fans rate Heinz a great deal more than Laidlaw so they should be happy with this even if its only temporary!

In other news Hearthcote at 10 for Wuss, Denton at 8 for Bath, Jackson benches for Wasps, Hamilton starting with Brown benching for Sarries and Tait starting for Newcastle. Of the LI quartet they all start bar Tonks who is on the bench.

In the pro 12 Barclay starts at 8 and Muldowney benches for Connacht.

In the championship play offs we have Traynor benching for Bristol and rather interestingly Junior's younger brother, Andy Bulumakau is starting for Doncaster.

In Super Rugby (a little optimistic, I know) Huw Jones is benching & covering 11-15. McKenzie played from 15 for the chiefs this morning.

I dont really know what I was proposing by posting that. I wouldn't pick him there ahead of many others. It was probably more just venting the same frustrations with him as a 9. I read he played very well but Gloucester didn't score try.

Well that's Irish gone. I suspect they will need to trim the wage bill substantially so there will be a few departures. Lets hope that Maitland is among them at the very least.
