Dunbar gets a first start for Newcastle in the rather dodgy looking side that will probably be confirmed for relegation today.

Hutchinson currently massively pissing me off by keeping Harlequins from a play-off place, creating 1 try and scoring another so far.

No Ritchie Gray in today's Toulouse match squad away to UBB.
Maybe being rested for more serious matches to come.

I know I'm banging this drum pretty hard at the moment but there seems a real chance that Hutchinson could offer a blend of what Horne did for Russel as a second distributor (with Johnson nailed on at 12) and what Jones (who isn't seemingly playing [that well]) does at 13 making breaks in the outside channels.

He's making a few pundits' premiership teams of the season so far.

He must get a chance with the "1s" to see how he goes.

I am not a fan of throwing debutants into a mixed team as I think it tells us little. Get him outside SJ and see how they get on.

Moray Low retiring at the end of this season.

Always felt like he could have done so much more. He never fought for a first team place at Exeter and spent more and more time on his business outside of rugby as he became more of a squad man every day. As a man, I understand, as a Scotland fan - a real shame IMO. All the best to him.

What's Hutchison's defence like? Jones has some serious credit in the bank but cant ignore talent like that

He's pretty lightweight but probably makes less positional mistakes than Jones. They are very different sorts of players and Jones does cut some lovely lines with Russell putting him through them whilst Hutchinson is more of a stepper. Be nice to be able to pick depending on the opposition.

Here's your weekly Hutchinson update. Only really the minute from 2:30 - 3:30 worth paying attention to.

Johnny Williams to start for England against the Barbarians. It's not a cap game but certainly seems to rule him out for the future.

Also Visser and Traynor retiring. Who else have I missed?

What a weird f*cking career Traynor had. He certainly got his Scotland caps on merit at the time though.

Ireland have recently poached Mike Haley despite him playing for England against the Barbarians and for England A vs South Africa A, so I wouldn't be too downheartened.

Yep, that was class. A shame it didn’t turn out to be the the play that took them to the title.

Ritchie is on the bench for this evening's semi final in Bordeaux against La Rochelle and wee Greig is in the starting XV for Clermont tomorrow against Lyon.

Oui, and I believe the final is being shown live on French terrestrial tv France2, aswell as Canal+pay tv (which I don't!).

Chris Harris has joined Gloucester from Falcons. Good for him. Don't see him as more than a back up for Scotland but the more Scots playing at a high level the better

Gray Snr wins battle of the Scots in France. Seen some criticism of the Clermont halves which include Laidlaw. Didn't watch it so can't comment on his performance.

You just can't play a fast paced game with Laidlaw.
