I don't have an inside track on Edinburgh but it's also possible Sarries may have known what was coming their way and will be offloading one of Kruis or Skelton to adhere to the wage cap.

they won't be offloading anyone. Said that earlier and if you have followed todays news its clear. With Itoje and Kuise at they WC the added some back up who was being touted around and cheap, and to a have a look at before Kpoku goes to Stains end of season (very very strong "rumour"). Hunter Hill is a big unit and good player and could earn himself a deal but that will be falling on his feet rather than anyone's grand plan. He was pushed out

1) This seems to happen a lot with PI france based players... they go home after a tournament or summer break and go missing/don't return.
2) is Diamond allowed to "negotiate" with a contracted player? He has two years to run as far as I know.

As long as he's happy to pay the release fee - why wouldn't he be?

I don't have a reference but I thought you were not allowed to talk to players about signing them until the last year on their contract. Or something like that.... Unless agreed by the relevant parties which doesn't sound like it is the case if his club have no idea where the hell he is?

Hutchinson has signed a contract extension with Saints.

In this weekend's Top14 fixtures, Russell starts for Racing v Bordeaux this afternoon, wee Greig appears to be rested for Clermont's home match v Agen.
Toulouse play Bayonne and Brive play Stade Français tomorrow but the teams have yet to be announced.

Well I'm getting a bit predictable now but Hutchinson is class.

In this afternoon's games in the Top14, Ritchie Gray starts for Toulouse against Bayonne but there's no Alex Dunbar for Brive against Stade Français. Josh Strauss joined SF in September as a short term injury replacement and has maybe been released as his name doesn't appear on the players' list on the SF website.

According to the above article from rugbyrama, he was signed as a "joker médical", for a minimum of three months.
I took a look at the SF website and his name no longer appears in the list of players.

Sam Hidalgo-Clyne is leaving Racing and will join Top14 leaders Lyon as an injury replacement. I don't believe he had much game time at Racing so it's potentially a good move for him.

In all likelihood he's probably doing a "Gordon Reid" & staying in one of the club's shared properties and sending the pay cheque back to the wife who's raising the kid(s) in Scotland somewhere.

The constant short term contracts suggest so.

Hogg made a try, scored a try and then went off injured in 17 minutes today.

Hutchinson perhaps showed some of his limitations yesterday against a very good lenister defence. Some lovely passing and touches though, looks he brings what horne does but with extra pace.

Hoggy was on fire, shame about the injury. Ribs perhaps - hopefully not too long term.

Richie Gray's contract with Toulouse is until the end of this season. I wonder if Edinburgh or Glasgow would be interested?
