so who else is there?
Watson had a massive lions tour and is likely out for the tour.
Brown we know what he does need to find another player IMO.
Woodward maybe
Outside that who else? Haley is off to Ireland.
daly drops back to 15 often enough, he came on in the lions tour at 15, and not like he has never played 15 before.

steady, just said it would be nice to see him play there regularly.....its really not a position to be chucked into, away, to South Africa. I don't think he has played there this season. Think Johnny May has played there more

, and I wouldnt recommend that.
Woodward, as you ask. Nowell presents the same issues as Daly.

But wouldn't you be facing problems with playing Woodward at 15. As you say playing 15 against SA will be tough especially since this is really his first season of playing out and out 15.
Damn we lack 15 depth don't we.

15 Woodward or Lozowski
keep Daly on wing and start looking for an alternative to May. I would risk the U20 lad.

Indeed, from what I've read, Woodward would be a good pick for the Boks.
Can we assume that Ben Youngs will be fit and raring to go? If yes, then a new scrum half simply must go as back up to Youngs, and send Danny Care into a Carehome (Taxi!)
At hooker, Hartley needs to be put out to grass and George put into a darkened room until pre-season training, which will allow LCD and Taylor/ANOther to show what they can do.
And Tuilagi, who appears to be finding some form, should also be heading for South Africa.

Why? May's having a good season and for me has been one of the pluses in England's underperforming 6N three quarters.

But Lozowski hasn't played 15 this season.
Would rather Cokasigna than Ibitoye.

Not sure really. Just there was a time when he would get his hands on the ball and you had a sense of excitement, now I just look to see which forward he is going to run into.

Genius.
I'd actually prefer experimenting in South Africa - if Willis, Mercer, Curry et al play well, then there'll be no question of "Well it was only Wales/Scotland/Italy." It'll be a test that Eddie will respect the results of.
Mind, that assumes that he will actually experiment and that those names are fit.

I think you're barking; he's been one of our better players this 6N.

He's certainly been fuller of beans than some of our leg heavy, emotionally drained little soldiers.

I hope not he would get mullered at that level.

I can't believe I'm doing this again, but the Danny Care thing? I keep reading how atrocious he was, though everyone seems to have acknowledged what shite the forward pack was serving up all tournament. I wish could see him run, as I've said I'm not sure why we aren't, and kick less/better. He's certainly better from the bench too, but it doesn't seem like he's had many games behind a decent forward performance. Maybe that isn't a coincidence?
If we'd got to see him play the game Youngs was in 2016 behind a dominant pack he may have done well, but he seemed to be playing the Wigglesworth template on the back foot instead. On that note, is it just me or did ball presentation seem like a big focus when EJ came in that we've now sort of forgotten about?
Ideally we'd have 3 scrum-halves much better than BY/DC/RW anyway, but it feels like scrum-half was quite far down the list of issues this 6N.

Not my best idea. Clearly become a far better test player since moving to Welford Rd

Only thing better for a player is a stint at Goldington Road.

When Youngs was fully fit and playing for England there were many posters on this board who did not rate him highly because of his laboured service in clearing the ball. For a period he was getting good milage out of his show and go move, until opposing teams figured it out. Would not expect anything great at all on his return and I don't think he'll be the saviour of Englnand's SH play. Pity Care has not been playing his natural ebullient game, which is high risk but can be effective. Time to move on from the lot of them and look at some new SHs. Could Robson/Chudley/Spencer .... be worse?

It’s sage advice rugby advice like this that won you the tightly and bitterly fought competition to be EMB mod.

But If Youngs had quicker ball from the forwards it would help. I don't think people expect Youngs to be the saviour but he is a good international 9 and his box kicking takes away alot of pressure on the 10/12. Around 70% of the clearance kicks where by Youngs before his injury and TBF our kick and chase game was pretty key. With Youngs Eddies Jones England lost what 1 game.
Care's game plan at international level suits coming off the bench v tiring players but he lacks control.
chudley is 30 and not even first choice at his club nowhere near england.
Spencer i'm a fan of but he really hasn't impressed with Saracens recently, v Tigers he was really bad.
Robson IMO would be an improvement on Care as a bench option.
Maunder is the obvious successor for me in terms of england starting 9, put he's been injured and looks like he is behind White at Exeter.
