The ones to the floor at the end most definitely. The head high passes started when he came on though.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 5:03 pmhand fckd may explain it, no?

Re: Premiership Final
Shame for Sale but just too error prone and didn’t get convincingly on top when they had the chances.
I’d love to see a super cut of Rodd’s impacts on the game.

Re: Premiership Final
Saracens deserved winners. Apart from a good spell when they took the lead, i never felt Sale were really on top. Saracens rode that out and came back to close the game out very efficiently helped by too many dull errors.

Re: Premiership Final
Faz showing yet again that he's a decent to good club FH, but nothing special, in a game of highs and lows. I thought he threw some nicely timed passes but is, as always, chronically short of speed. His physical shape has gradually morphed into that of a non athletic middle aged bloke complete with a significant pair of love handles.
Ford showed a few nice touches but could orchestrate little against a very tough Sarries defence.

I suppose MoM has to go to the winning side. Curry was mine.
That was an exciting cut and thrust game but, overall, it was not a great advert for the quality of English rugby. Maybe, I'm prejudiced because I simply don't like that much kicking, especially from the SHs.

Ridiculous to sublime and back again. Worst moment was where Sale had that last desperate attack with 5 minutes to go and the chance was still there, only for Rodd to attempt to repeat that sweeping pick and go on the run, that made his try for him, but ended up in fumbling spectacularly and gifting the turnover that let Dan kick a 50 metre 50:22.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 5:05 pm I’d love to see a super cut of Rodd’s impacts on the game.

Yes, there were various factors that confirm your statement.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 5:45 pmit was an embodiment of english rugby. Effort over skill, tactics and execution.Oakboy wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 5:33 pm I suppose MoM has to go to the winning side. Curry was mine.

Tuilagi made ground every time he got the ball and foraged forward with it - all of three times? Add in the defensive alignment errors and assess whether his overall effect on the game was better than a skilful contribution from James would have been.
Then, why have Ford at FH and ask your SH to sky the ball every time he touched it.
And, of all the FBs in world rugby, why would your FH try spiral bombs against Goode?

Re: Premiership Final
I think the kicking game was hampered by how easily Sarries managed to block off the Sale chasers or how easily the Sale chasers fell off tackles. Tough day at the office for the young back three. Sarries are very good at covering the backfield, I suspect Sale were hoping to draw Sarries into a kicking contest but instead it was just easier for Sarries to beat the chase and get momentum rather than kick back under pressure. When Sarries did have to box kick they tended to pick out Reed who was hapless under the high ball.Oakboy wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 5:59 pmYes, there were various factors that confirm your statement.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 5:45 pmit was an embodiment of english rugby.
