Re: Hodge's Heroes
If you look at Edinburgh backs, Cockerill has a hell of a job to do to try and move them forwards and without Bennet he really doesnt have a single X factor player
Still not worked out why Mark Robertson has not been called back to a pro team, he was brilliant before getting injured but still think he could come back and do a good job for Edinburgh

Second ACL for Bennett. Do we know if its same knee? Whilst its amazing what they can do these days, you rarely see a player come back quite the same after ACL reconstruction.
With Huw Jones sounding like he has a grade 3 hammy, that's two outside centre options with severe injuries.

Gutted for Bennett but at least this is where the perks of staying in Scotland will kick in. He'll be well looked after.
BTW as we're on the Embra thread. Manu is off to Treviso. Which is poor for Scotland as he really should have been considered a project player and if Edinburgh do not want him then Glasgow are in dire need of a ball carrying 8.

Another young player signs for Edinburgh:
Edinburgh Rugby today announced the signing of BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy back-row Ally Miller on a two-year deal, which will see him serve his hometown club until May 2019.

Re: Hodge's Heroes
We lose one regularly injured player and his salary goes on a star player who picks up a bad injury. Typical. Excited to see what Miller can do, though we now look very young in the back-row. However maybe that's what's needed, a bit of fearlessness.

I`ve noticed that the Scottish Knee Fairy is careful to select those who are exceptionally talented to receive a second sprinkle. (eg. R.Rennie)
Hopefully, expensive Ortho-Pod surgery will restore him to full Vim and Vigour..

Honestly given his turn of pace and ball skills, he might be a good 12.

That will have been a Scott Johnson/Dodson decision.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Gutted for Bennett but at least this is where the perks of staying in Scotland will kick in. He'll be well looked after.

Manu's wage v production has been terrible in the last two years. No surprise that the SRU cut bait.
Will also be no surprise when he is decent for Treviso. Although worth noting that they were the best deal he could get.

I mean how many games has he actually played since the start of the 6n? Now he probably does need a rest, but a trip to HK would be a good time out.

It's not just about since the 6N. It's collective wear and tear. He and Toolis (up til last week) have started pretty much every game this year. His form clearly dropped awaym Kinghorn is still an u20 and should be managed better.

I completely agree with you as it is, and it'll be good to see Bryce gets some run at 15.Big D wrote:It's not just about since the 6N. It's collective wear and tear. Why is it that Sasa Tofilau can't sniff much game time? He seems handy
