I get you. But still, he had all the physical tools to be a great player, he showed it from time to time. Just a shame he didn't seem to want it.

What parts do you disagree with? Nobody is saying Beattie doesn't have a good life and career. He still had all the tools to become a Scotland great. If you put JG's consistency and desire into Beattie then we'd have one of the best 8s in the world.

He never reached his potential and likely never will and that is what frustrates people.

He's been looking around in France for the following year.

Suggestion on the Edinburgh board that Ben Ransom could be headed north. Looks like Maitland has taken his place at Saracens and he is Scottish qualified. Can't see an obvious place for him in either squad but would be happy for him and Bryce to battle it out, he's got great attacking flair.

Not good for Kinghorn though.

I have just gone on the French website Rugbyrama.fr where they are mentioning DeLuca's transfer to Wasps next season. Here are some of the comments from some Biarritz supporters with a quick translation in Green. Seems like he left an impression.

@euskalred Même pas, il était nul en défense...Ah ça les passes à l'aveugle il savait faire, le ballon tombait par terre ou dans les bras adverses...Le gilbert montagné du BO. Dire qu'il a fallu attendre la mi-saison pour se rendre compte que notre meilleure paire de centres sont des jeunes de -20 ans...
@euskalred Not even, he was crap in Defence... Oh,the "no look"pass,that he knew, the ball going to the ground or in the opponents hands, The BO's own Gilbert Montagne(french "Ray Charles"). To say we had to wait half-way through the Season to realise that our best centre pair were our under 20s.
