Gods below and everburning. Just hire Rowntree or Lancaster (or both?) before we end up with Eddie Jones.

The forwards and scrum coaching has lacked a little this season, Rowntree would be an experienced head coach that could help fix those areas. Just get it done and then go find a defence coach.
Saints have confirmed Logan, Haffar and Seabrook all to leave at the end of the season. Maybe Tigers will announce the latter two now.

It’s not that. I know the family so not sure if it’s info for the hoi polloi. Anyway if it’s a secret and the whole rugby world comes crashing down because it gets out, they told me 2.5 weeks ago and I haven’t seen them since so I have plausible deniability.

I heard someone say a few years ago he's currently making more in scaffolding now than any of the Tigers boys still working in rugby.

Saints not messing around. Hell of a signing.

Top player. Now I see why they're letting Haffar go.

Far more relaxed about letting Haffar go now, good signing that. Hopefully he'll be joined by some Italian siblings too

BBC Radio Leicester apparently hinting that neither Rowntree nor Lancaster are on the shortlist and that the move for Gustard is off for now. Chieka might be taking on a Boyd style mentorship role which suggests we're maybe promoting Hewatt or getting somebody less experienced in.

I wouldn't hate Hewatt. What I don't want is "someone who understands the Leicester DNA". We already have lots of people who understand the club and a lot of strong voices in the dressing room - what we need is someone to bring in some fresh ideas and evolve the Leicester way of doing things.FKAS wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 9:26 pmBBC Radio Leicester apparently hinting that neither Rowntree nor Lancaster are on the shortlist and that the move for Gustard is off for now. Also "understands the Leicester DNA" usually seems to be code for "We've forgotten that the great Leicester sides had Healey, Lloyd, Stimpson, Greenwood, Smith, Howard, and have instead just remembered all the rolling mauls and scrums, so best prepare for the backs to get frostbite in the winter and the forwards to run into brick walls cause that's tHe lEiCesTeR wAy!"

tHe lEiCesTeR wAy!" otherwise known as over promoting an old boy who's grossly under qualified for the job. I have similar fears to you. I'm open to promoting Hewatt, not my first choice but if we then support him with some canny coaching recruitment in defence and scrum that could work. Ideally we'd pick up an up and coming international assistant and pair him with Hewatt as attack coach leaving Chieka as an experienced consultant as and when needed.Puja wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 11:41 pmI wouldn't hate Hewatt. Knowing our luck somehow they'll appoint Brett Deacon...
