Ford was looking for the pass there but the other two members in the backfield just stood on the other side of pitch not moving. Fecking work across you lazy sods.

The crowd are booing England's aimless kicking. Can't blame them.

Weirdly so. Not just slow to get the ball away, but lifts it and then is slow, so the defence has time to come up.

The crowd groaning as one at these kicks is the soundtrack of England's world cup...

Is that kicking game a major feature of most domestic games in England? Man, it is dull.

Now actively cheering us knocking the ball on. Again, can't blame them.

Not really, no! The Prem last year was very free-flowing and high-scoring.

Then this team is being coached to do it. And not much else.

And the teams who do kick more generally do so considerably better, with good chases.

They're being told to do it. If they were being coached, you'd expect it to look at least half competent and like there was some sort of plan to do something with it.

Commentary: "Japan have been excellent at forcing England into errors - well, England have been making errors without being forced, as well."

We actually string some nice phases together, Stuart stuffs it up but we still somehow score. Yay.
