He's out of contract & I think it's apparent to most in Glasgow that their backups during international period aren't good enough which is why you're seeing guys like Gibbins & Kebble being recruited.

FYI I was only listing those that do not have a contract at the end of this season and have yet to be announced as leavers.

I'm starting to think Grigg might have an international future ahead of him. Imagine him coming off the bench! He just cannot stop making breaks.

Monster scrum. I do wonder why we're persisting with Simon Berghan at international level when we have D'arcy Rae available. He is coming along very nicely indeed - somewhat under the radar due to Fagerson's performances.

Another monster scrum, they lose yardage though... a Number 8 would help. Fagerson is a 7 isn't he?

That was a well worked try - the young pack are destroying Zebre in every aspect. Opening up lots of space for the backs... Murchie still looks like Hugo Southwell when he runs though - slow as f*ck.

See my post. He really is f*cking slow for an outside back. It was like the try line was being pulled away a few metres every second. I have no idea how it took him so long to get there. He was running diagonally to be fair...

Has been playing 7 for the U20s but hasn't settled on a position for the future. He's still got two years at that level anyway. Even if he stays that height you can see him adding a lot of muscle and moving to 6 or 8.

One sided demo job. Zebre tried but just couldn't match up. Rae, Cummings, Fagerson, Smith, Bhatti all showing up well for the next generation. Horne was solid given he was having to fill in at 10 for the first time at this level. Wynne didn't get much time at all.

Forgot Fenton. Seemed solid enough, nae fuck ups.

One thing I've felt this year is that the Glasgow backs as a unit lack a yard of pace in general. Obviously Hogg & Bennett are excluded & Seymour is fine, but outside that you have Sarto, Horne, Dunbar, Johnson all are good players but are nothing more than average pace at this level. Then there is the next level of players Prygos, Hughes, Murchie, Vernon(at least the 2016/17 version) even the SA import fullback who all are on the slow side for their positions. The rest of their game often makes up for the lack in this area but when you put them all in one out a back division like tonight you don't see many who could finish a 80m break. Other than Grigg it was a pretty toothless back division, bar one epic Johnson break.

I reckon we are missing a 15 & one or two wings with genuine wheels who can come in when the internationals are away & push for the first team.

Lee Jones is fine I suppose but is not really a flier anymore.
Haven't seen much of this Ratu Tagive guy so can't evaluate him. Glasgow should've gone for Darcy Graham, or sign up Farndale from the sevens. Otherwise get 2-3 good foreign prospects & take a punt.

Tbf to Sarto, he had not played since October after a leg injury. He was a bolter before that.

As a unit I think the Glasgow backs are among the fastest in the pro 12. Very odd criticism and very harsh on Sarto who is pretty rapid. I do agree that letting Bennett leave is a mistake though but if Huw Jones is cheaper then it makes sense for the greater good. He'll still be wasted at Edinburgh and I view it as a step back in his development.

Pace is not Glasgow's problem. 2 big hard yard carriers to rely on when the game is not going their way is what they need to recruit.

I'd agree with this.

Haven't seen much of Graham but he was caught pretty quickly by a Yank forward earlier.

Graham is still a kid who's not conditioned for 7s. It's a massively different game. The heat/humidity out there will likely be quite something too.
