Their new shirt was good, but that new sponsor has ruined it.

Still, at least it's new money coming in, and Finn was front and centre in the pics.

Note that the Scotland/Glasgow/Edinburgh etc. casualty list is (sadly) rather heavy on post surgical rehab.
No mention of Huw Jones..
Is he fully restored ?

Think he played in the Currie Cup last week.

HP/Weeg contingent, has Fenton swapped places with Turner? Noted he is in Edinburghs team tonight.

Bit of a contrast to the Edinburgh team but that just reflects the greater number of internationals not back playing yet. I wonder if Hughes is seen as a realistic option at 15 until Hogg is back

Doesn't strike me he'd be quite smart enough to play 15 but I thought the same about Rory Lamont.

Yeah, that's my instinct too but it is only based on him looking like a thug which may not be the best way to pick a team.

Anyone go along last night?

It's being played right now mate. Not there myself but a couple of pals are. Great crowd at Stirling & tied 7-7 at HT. Glasgow score created and finished by George Horne!

Eadie starts at 8 for saints btw.

Really thought Glasgow had won that until seeing the score at the end. Some nice stuff in there though.

Thanks for the highlights. So the attack looks like Glasgow of old - some really promising stuff. Shame the shirt numbers don't reflect the team sheet - according to the sheet Chris Fusaro was the guy on the end of that cross field kick & running well... I think it's Stafford McDowell though? Maybe Lee Jones? I'm sure a weegie will confirm.

Going to sleep in defense lost them the game based on those highlights. If you look at the last Saints try (on the video) - Glasgow are outnumbered something like 8 to 3 on that side of the ruck. It's not particularly fast ball either it's just idiocy. But they are mostly youngsters to be fair...

Yup. That confused me too. I thought it was Lee Jones, he seems so good in those tight spots, but good work whoever it was.

Can't wait to see how G Horne develops.

Nah you're right, it's Lee Jones.

Pyrgos is in trouble this year if G Horne keeps up the form he showed in 7s.

Was saying elsewhere. Will be interested when HJones comes in for Glasgow. Likely not here until the AIs. Possibly bench for Montpellier but also possible Rennie holds him back until he is up to speed with the game plans.

Oh really, I had always assumed he would just be missing the first few weeks. I didnt realise the Currie Cup went on so long

WP's last league game is 18/10. Then if they make the playoffs (4 of 7 do) then add 2 weeks on to that. Very likely he'll be straight into Scotland camp.

He scored twice at the weekend playing at 12.

Aviva selected again for pro 14 final

I was in favour of moving it around the countries but its clear now that it seems to favour Irish stadiums over other nations

Since they changed it we have had

Belfast
Murrayfield
Dublin
Dublin

While Munster and Leinster are favorites Im not sure this policy can continue, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Rome supporters all deserve the chance to host the final as does the local economy beside the stadiums

Ryan Wilson is the new Glasgow captain. Good move for the club tbh. The choice & co-captaincy was ridiculous. Pyrgos is a non-starter and whilst JG is a world class lock he behaves like a pre-teen who is still too shy to talk to girls. Except the girl is the ref....

I was rather hoping he`d be kept in cotton wool till he arrived in Glasgow.. Fingers crossed then..

There are some potential issue with other stadia to be fair. And given it is important for the Pro 14 to have a successful 1st season I wont be giving them a kicking this time for picking Dublin.

Sure I read somewhere the Millenium Stadium will have it's pitch out for a concert around that time.

they've moved the Coppa Italia final from that weekend but not sure if Italy will have a friendly there that weekend?

A bold choice for captain. Hopefully it will work out - a chance to get on ref's good side before he does anything daft, extra responsibility making the man, etc, etc.

Anyway, am glad Jonny can now concentrate on the day job. Am sure the experience will stand him in good stead in the next few years, but it generally helps when you're captain is at least a bit gobby.

Now get Naka back!
