Not sure I agree with that. I don't recall too many games where there have been any real issues especially when Dickinson and Nel have been available.

Then you've not been watching Scotland for the last 18 months.

Pre-RWC15, sure. Front row was more often than not a weak point.

Since Nel qualified and with Dicko re-invigorated then our first choice front row is a match for most.

Fagerson has shown at club and Test level that he can get a decent shove on, particularly when you have two front rows that want to drive straight. Now and again like any young prop he'll get done by a cannier opponent. Dell - agree, the jury is still out.

I'm looking forward to this. France are big, but ridiculously disjointed. A proper, well-thought out game plane and a lack of fannying about could see you through I reckon. Just don't eff around at the set piece. Get the ball off the top of the lineout whenever possible, and FFS do not treat the scrum as a means of milking penalties only. Hook the bastard sharpish and feed the fly boys in the backline.

I laughed at that. We haven't hooked a ball in years, and I don't think anyone else has either. If it doesn't get chucked to the 2nd row's feet it's fucked.

It's also Laidlaw flapping his arms like a mating pelican instead of clearing it out.

Here you should have a word with the Paddies about a game plane.

Might get them to the feckin ground a bit earlier and save us all a bit of earache.

No those 2 are pretty good, but it feels like the cupboard is pretty bare behind them. Fagerson aside, and even he is raw yet.

All Blacks hook the ball a lot. They seem to appreciate how quick controlled ball from the scrum is a great for attack or defence.

When is it announced? tomorrow?

French Supporters on Rugbyrama and Rugbynistere are bigging up Gabriel Lacroix (winger for La Rochelle). He is very fast but I think, maybe a bit raw for International.

interesting article, but i think they are eing overly harsh on the irish defence for hoggs trys, they were narrow but it was hardly inept

Also think this game will be 5 - 7 tries like last week, no point pretending France wont get a couple of tries but we need to score more and also start the game the same way, i dont think the french have the self belief that ireland do, they should have won last week and they know that if they dont win this week it will be along season so i think they will be more paniky and probabbly revert to trying to smash us into next week

Their TH is massive, I would have loved to see an old school loosehead like Tom Smith against him. The French fella would have to scrummage so low it would be impossible to him.

Didn't Racing field some 23-stone monster in the Glasgow games? A skip would have been more mobile.

Have the last two games in Paris not been single score difference affairs? Even 2011 we put in a good performance I think.

It's a potential banana skin but I'm not worried about this one. The visit to Twickenham is the scary one....

Yeah, off the top of my head, I think so. Even the one before that (Richie Gray played really well), we were in it up to around 60 minutes I think. Mind, France got the wooden spoon that year!

What reality have I slipped into that makes the French, away, a banana skin for us? If it is one, It's one that we've been stepping on since 1999. You'd think someone would have put up a fucking sign by now.

Ali Hogg must have stepped on that Banana of yours n' aw.

No, I wont let that go.

Jesus Greg. Way to fuck up our karma. Also France is on the rise. They are past St Andre.

Darnell I getting charged down
Hoggs foot
Fifes penalty for throwing the ball away
Duistoirs try that everyone could see was forward but Barnes wasn't allowed to look at the tv
Did Rory Lamont also get yellow carded for something Sean Lamont did there.

List goes on.

Time to piss on the 4 corners of the pitch and do what the old gypsey women said
