This would improve the referees & also improve consistency across the major leagues & tournaments in Europe.
Referees would need to sharpen up their French if that were to happen, but yes that would be my preference.
Why, most French sides seem to be made up of players from English speaking countries anyway

The players seem to manage ok in the European competitions & Internationals...

Im not sure that the language issue would be a huge problem. The Italian teams manage fine in our games. If one of the officials is French and can manage anything too complex, then the refereeing shouldn't be a major problem.

I think it adds to the perception of fairness; having all of the officials from the host nation looks bad, even if the game is refereed perfectly.

Clancy to be banned from this level?
They really should forbid a team from having home AND referee advantage. And no way should the whole officiating team ever be of one nationality, unless it's a neutral one.
As I understand it that would defeat the whole putpose of the non-neutral referees as it's a cost cutting measure. None of the unions involved is so poor they can't afford neutral referees. It has to change.
We still get your feckers refereeing your teams when we're at home!! Who pays for that?

Speak to tig about it. It's apparent to me that the French are at a disadvantage in a game of split second reactions where referees are encouraged to keep a commentary going if they have to translate most of what a referee is saying.

Quite. I don't believe for a moment that there are significant sums saved.
