Irish really taking it to Saints in fairness. They’re worthy of their lead.

Could be a yellow for that knock on though in my mind. Deliberate knock on when Irish were attacking quickly and well on the front foot.

Post didn't stop it, he just landed on his back.

Should be a red though. After the whistle, clearly didn't have the ball and the 9 knew he didn't have the ball.
The rotation of Reinach in the air was definitely arrested by contact with the post pad. Would have been shoulder/neck/head had he not contacted it. But yes, how a tip tackle, off the ball, after the whistle was given as a yellow I'm not sure.

I have to say, I'm not exactly seeing evidence from this game for the much touted "now there's no relegation, people will express themselves and play much more rugby" that was being bandied about in the buildup. Irish still look like they're either doing one-out runners or kicking the leather off it. Maybe no-one's told Myler that he's allowed to throw the ball around like a Barbarian now that relegation's gone?

Plus, this Irish side isn't exactly showing the plethora of EQP that was promised either. It's possible that teams still don't want to lose, even without the threat of relegation, and teams down the bottom of the table are there because they're crap, not crap because they're near relegation and scared?

What’s up with the socks Saints are wearing?

The worry might be this is Myler throwing the ball around like a Barbarian....

That is a fucking soft red card. How is that worse than the tip in the first half?

Absurd red card. No tv angle that shows definitively first point of contact was with head. Looked much more likely forearm to chest was the initial contact.

What a try saver from Reinach. Is there a faster player in the premiership?

How can he give a pen against Myler, then not give that?

Phenomenonal effort from Reinach though. Hasn't he already done something similar this season?

Agreed- have to say it’s that sort of nonsense that makes the game increasingly hard to support for me.

Have the Aussies got a better hooker than Porecki? He looked pretty useful.

Very likely. I don’t think tonight’s game bore much resemblance to a high class test match.
