I don’t want to see Daly at 15. I don’t want to see Youngs at 9. I don’t want to see any lock in either of 6,7 or 8 positions.
That would be enough for me given what we know Eddie is like.

Just heard that LCD has dropped out of the squad for Paris due to family reasons. His place is taken by Dunn, I believe. That’s a shame as I’d been hoping that LCD would start.

Some interesting calls to put Daly on the right wing, Mells has kept him on the left, as did Mikey, but Mike might just be making sure he's not at 15

That does beggar belief. I know he was in the RWC squad and Eddie knows how to fit him into systems, etc, etc, but he has been - how to put this delicately? - "not good" since joining Saracens.
Surely there are better options?

I remember JPR deliberately chesting an opposing winger into the front row of the grandstand with no thought of wrapping arms. He was applauded for his magnificent last-ditch defence. 'Twas so different then.

Well, at least that bit hasn't changed.

I put him on the right wing because May should be the undisputed choice on the left wing. As a guy that’s played a lot at 13, Daly should be comfortable on either side of the pitch but I’m assuming he was put on the left for defensive kicking?
Either way, I’d prefer to see Watson at least tried at 15. If that means May shifts across to the right then I’ll take that.

Reports are Watson is the one at 15 in the team runs

Yes, indeed! Give those threes some space and England will pay dearly so a lot is going to depend on how quickly the English pack can gain the upper hand and keep French possession to a minimum. However, I know next to nothing about fullback Bouthier nor prop Haouas. The saffer Willemse is a lump in the tight but hardly a mobile player so if England can keep their play open then his strengths will be negated. It’ll probably be a close game and no prediction from me til I’ve seen Eddie’s selection!

I'm actually quite worried about that French side. Its early days and they may not click, but jeez if they do........

Yep. On one hand it's a boon that we're playing them first, so they shouldn't click. On the other, we haven't got anything to analyse and prepare with. I'm hyping this up in my head and hope it delivers.

Despite all the talk about French inexperience there are only two new caps in the team. As for Eddie's threat to beat them up physically - the French pack weighs in at 930 Kg or so and contains a few tough nuts. His words may come back to haunt him. They also have a pair of massive and talented centres and strike power to burn on the wing. A French win would not be a great surprise here. The psychological hangover from England's comprehensive humping by S.A. in the world cup final could also play a part.
