Re: How's your team looking for 21/22?
Humphrey had a pretty poor season. He will probably end up starting but I think we will start out at least with Ashton until he either gets banned or offers absolutely nothing.
Shilcock really started to play well since he seems to have settled on full back as his preferred position. If Nanai is fit, which isn't very often, he is pure class and is first choice without a doubt. Noah Heward also looks class and is probably the reason David wasn't offered more time at fullback.

Think we've got an academy guy who'll make the 4th loosehead. Fly half looks a little bare, but with Gopperth and Miller, I'm not too worried. Even Mills if needed.
Suspect we're going to get a bit of a disrupted backline again next season though, as players are injured/come back from injury.

A first choice XV is pretty good, though lacking oomph in the front row and dash in the centres, but beyond that it's good but not that special. We always seem to have a long injury list so I think we'll struggle with so many very good teams in the Prem now.Raggs wrote:Loosehead prop

Sale's biggies will be getting more than 5 games each out of Lood and Manu.
Tommy Taylor is a good signing to bring home, with some decent experience.

I'd be worried about getting more than 5 games out of Tommy Taylor as well with his injury record!16th man wrote:Sale's biggies will be getting more than 5 games each out of Lood and Manu.

McIntyre is potentially a good signing too, but like Taylor, there’s a definite doubt over how many games he’ll end up playing.

Re: How's your team looking for 21/22?
Looks like the last few pieces have gone into the Tigers jigsaw with Lancaster and Richardson.
1. Genge, van Wyk, Whitcombe, Richardson
2. Montoya, Youngs, Clare, Dolly, Vanes
3. Cole, Heyes, Leatigaga, Hurd
4. Wells, Snyman, Chessum
5. Green, Henderson
6. Liebenburg, Martin,
7. Reffell, van Staden
8. Weise, Brink, Smith
9. Youngs, JVP, Wigglesworth, Law
10. Ford, Burns, Lancaster
11. Nadolo, Murimurivalu, Porter
12. Kelly, Taute, Socino
13. Moroni, Scott
14. Potter, Owolfela, Browning
15. Steward, Heggarty, Worth
Lock doesn't look as strong on paper but there's some good potential there and always the chance of Ilione breaking through from the development/senior academy squad and pushing Martin into the row whilst he takes up the backup role to Liebenburg. Good mix, should be able to rotate round and keep players fresh though losing Montoya, Moroni, Weise and van Staden until October is a bit of a blow. At least they should come back match fit.

Re: How's your team looking for 21/22?
Genuinely think Leicester are one to watch for next season. Might be a little light in terms of depth, but if you can keep injuries relatively light and the likes of steward stay out of England squad (for now...) it's a banging team.
I know you can't totally rely on stats, but Reffell I believe had second highest turnovers last season? I liked the look of him, and if my memory isn't making a mockery of me, that would suggest a good player there who I assume is 100% a club player.
Really like the centre partnership of Kelly and Moroni too. Lots of positives and I think Borthwick has had a good impact and can take this team further.
Genuinely excited to see what happens next season, think they're are plenty of opportunities for a surprise team to make a break for it, and with Saracens back there are plenty of opportunities for excitement!

Re: How's your team looking for 21/22?
Yeah I'm quietly confident of a top 6 finish and maybe a little go at getting 4th. The depth we've got is actually looking pretty handy now. A second XV of;
Van Wyk, Youngs, Heyes
Snyman, Henderson
Martin, Brink, Van Staden
JVP, Burns
Taute, Scott
Murimurivalu, Heggarty, Owolfela
Is light years ahead of previous years when anything outside the first team was generally a big step down.
I rate Reffell, he's become a really efficient jackler. If he could get involved a bit more with some link work he'd really be some player. As is tackles and turnovers is fine by me. With van Staden joining, he played openside Vs the Lions for SA A in the week, there will be some good rotation between the two which should keep them nice and fresh. Though Reffell will have to keep playing well in order to keep the shirt under that pressure.
I'm hoping we'll see a couple more of the young lads kick on this season. Ollie Chessum at lock/backrow in particular as he's a menace at lineout time, being 6ft7 and athletic certainly helps.

Heart is pleased to see TT return but I wonder where that leaves us with Akker, Langdon and Ashman. My fear is that Ashman is off to Jockland. He is definitely one for the future and of the three would be the one I would most want to keep. A front row of Rodd, Ashman and Harper in a couple of years really excites mePuja wrote:I'd be worried about getting more than 5 games out of Tommy Taylor as well with his injury record!16th man wrote:Sale's biggies will be getting more than 5 games each out of Lood and Manu.

Having just seen our gopping new kit and new Disney style logo, I'd say that Wasps will look dreadful.

Can't find a picture of the kit only, but it can't be worse than the bra strap one that underarmour did for you a few years back.

I think it looks fine, apart from my inner zoologist screaming about the legs seemingly coming out of the abdomen. But I'll get over the.
It is disconcerting that it's facing the other way, and I suspect that's what actually makes a lot of people feel a bit uncomfortable with it. But again, a few months and no one will know.

Took me a while to spot the difference. Very similar to last season. Just the logo remodel really. I guess of it's your club you'll always notice the difference more.

I quite like the logo, but I’m not a fan of that shirt if it is indeed the playing kit.
Quins kit last season (home and away) was fairly good. I’m hoping we don’t revert back to something like the horrible luminous green shirt and pale grey shorts we had in 19/20 for our away strip.
