While it might be a controversial opinion, I think there's a semi-decent argument that the Radradra one shouldn't even have been a penalty. He was bent at the hips, he was using his arms - I'm not sure it counts under the "Has there been foul play?" aspect of the head contact protocol.

True enough, although the arm was ‘swinging’ with some vigour, so that much ‘looked’ like foul play, I can see how the d3cision was arrived at.

I think the Semi one came about as the adjudged him to be out of control. I wasn't fussed with the lack of red, thought it was a 50/50 call. It's the sort of tackle world rugby want to see out the game, he's flying in like a missile to the extend that he mainly misses (lucky for Freddie) and just clotheslines him. There's no control but there is clear line of sight. Freddie drops his height a fair chunk but there was a thing a couple of years ago where that wasn't considered enough for dispensation.

As per usual depends entirely on the officiating team and what mood they are in. I don't think he was ever getting away with no penalty. No with that amount of power coupled with that lack of control.

Yes I've been saying he was the key to the Tigers side last season and that his injury was a big loss for us. Admittedly I didn't expect him to demonstrate his impact on the side quite so dramatically inside his first game back after 6 months out.

He didn't demonstrate any kicking skills but his passing, carrying, decision making and defence were all top notch. Interesting to see Tigers using him in that Farrell style first receiver position to allow Burns to be in the boot and attack further out. Having Kelly do that worked nicely as he was good at varying between giving it Burns, the supporting forward or if the defence looked to drift going himself. Hopefully that's just the start from him this season.

Wasn't he the one charged down when Bristol somehow failed to score a try early in the second half? :P

Not a serious criticism - just amused me when you said he didn't demonstrate any kicking skills.

I thought that was Burns. If it was Kelly then my statement remains accurate 😂.
