Mitchell playing himself out of England contention.

Well the second half can only get better, can't it?

bit of a comeback in the last 5, but yes. Have to say I think he's been very inconsistent all season- the epitome of the side, concentration and sloppy execution undermining skill and ambition. Saints blown away, but a lot of self inflicted wounds in admittedly bad conditions.

not sure what Saints can do though other than stop being dim- they don't have much of a kicking game and the conditions don't set up well for a handling comeback. In fairness for all their poor decisions, they are also being owned physically up front.

a weeks a long time in rugby.....
Exe playing with an energy and drive absent last week and Saints playing without any of the accuracy and fluency they showed last week.

True- they made similar types of mistakes last week though, without the efficient Exeter scavenging machine to capitalise on them, and as you say, none of the attacking composure...but the conditions don't let you do that so...

saints started as they finished. Pants. Ludicrous actions and decisions. Dowson must be going crazy.

We also carried hard last week, which is the basis from which our backs can deliver. This week however we're not seeing any dominant collisions whatsoever. It's basic stuff for which there isn't much excuse.

Shit game, shit Saints. Exeter's defence was very hot off the line and allowed Saints no room to breathe.

Dowson has a mentality problem to overcome I think plus getting more edge up front.

Very disappointing from Saints. Exe better though hardly flawless.

Exeter’s ambitions are going to be completely hobbled unless they sort out their dire scrum & lineout. Not insignificant problems, but with the tight 5 forwards they have it’s surely not beyond the them to solve these issues. At the moment they have just about the worst setpiece in the league.
Outside of that they’re still really good with quality across the field.

Watching that game, the question is, "How the hell did Furbank ever get selected for international rugby?"
