My example was because Fiji are the darlings of the rugby world and any scenario which sees them eliminated on something that could even slightly be seen as "unfair" will be met with general opprobrium.

Yep. There’s a lot of emotion surrounding Fiji and people are desperate to see them go through, especially if it’s at the expense of Australia. They’ve really upset the status quo.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Portugal don’t give Australia a tight game after the fright they gave us.
Looking at the draw, we should get Japan or Argentina in the quarters. Argentina haven't impressed so far and Japan are a shadow of what they were a few years ago. We could very well be looking at the semis
