Thats quite a turnaround after a comfortable win in the first game. Disappointing.

I wouldn’t read too much into it. We went in with over 30 players in the match day squad. Was always going to be a tough ask changing 12 starters out and swapping the entire team during the match.

It's really just a fitness exercise pre tournament.

Mcparland & Makepeace-Cubitt presumably injured?

Yeah seems so. Great opportunity for Friday to step up. He’s very talented. Does nothing for my worries about fly half. Such a shame that Ollie Davies has an injury otherwise he’d surely be in contention.
The pack will be a handful for anyone, but it needs a good 10 to spark what is a very exciting backline.

Plenty of talent but the worry is that there isnt a commanding 10 to pull it all together. Pity about McParland.

Makepeace-Cubitt joining Rory Taylor on the injured fly half list is unfortunate.
On the bright side, I believe McParland and Ollie Davies are eligible again next year.

Yeah Davies will have two years as he's still U18, and McParland is available again

"23. Ioan Jones (no, he's not Welsh)"
Maybe not but the WRU will 100% be doing an ancestry search just to see where the name has come from because there's Welsh in the family line somewhere.

Also, what happened to number 22? Did he upset you in some way?

Yes (oops, cock-up earlier when writing them out)

Coen is playing Exeter Uni Rugby. Is he another cab off that seemingly endless conveyor belt of talent for Chiefs?

Is there still the rule that every player in the squad must play during the group phase?

He is indeed. Captained Blundell’s in his last year of school (last year). He’s progressed really well, though probably wouldn’t have made it without the injuries to Taylor and M-C.
I hope he steps up as I’ve got real concerns over Bellamy. That might be harsh, or hyper critical in my thinking, but he just doesn’t do it for me.

Don’t know if that’s still a formal thing or not. Though I suspect with turnaround between games we’ll rotate heavily anyway.

No chance with this half back pair unfortunately. Probably won’t even win today let alone win the competition. Shame because the rest of the side is seriously good.
