He's always upright, it's the type of tackle the change in law variations was trying to get rid of. We have seen inconsistent applications of mitigation this season so must be a nightmare to commentate on.

as i said prob right, its difficult when covering across at that pace to react properly but have to learn to run around crouched.

Bloody Cokanashitehands!
Handling used to be his USP, but even with that, he's never been able to catch the bloody ball!

Bath looking very good. Able to bring in players who slot in and do well. Very nice cameo from Sela at the end.
Think Butt a bit unlucky to get red. The Thomas call seemed right to me.

Tbh one of them was doing something pretty deliberate with time to think, the other was madly covering with decent intent tbh. Both were reds under the law, but frankly Butts was dodgier.

I think he fell into the contact rather than making a conscious attempt to hit with the shoulder. Maybe caught in two minds as to whether to try and get under the ball or try and put him into touch.

Seems a fair call, although being able to serve his punishment during the PRC is an absolute win for Bath. Not that I would want it any different, but I'm still fuming that Kata's ban was extended by a week because he was concussed and so "couldn't've been selected" whie PRC games where Bath are likely to rotate and rest anyway are treated like he'd've played all three.
Nye Thomas also gets three weeks for his headbutt tackle, but with the option of reducing to two with the training course. I wonder if it's tactically better not to take that now, given the PRC games aren't as important, and save the option for when you might miss a game that you care about? Mind, it's probably a case that you have to take it on first offence and can't play silly beggars.

Probably want a PRC game to get back into it after a few weeks of nothing before the Prem returns as well.

Hard to tell - if it hadn't been for injuries, these are exactly the matches he would have expected to play. Don't expect him to get much game time after this block of matches either, so even with the injuries, he may well have played this block.
He's earned the right to defend his shirt, but you'd put money on Redpath and Lawrence keeping him out, and Ojomoh giving him a real fight for it - and I'm not sure that rotation would include more than 3 players for the centre berths.
After the start to the season Butt has had, I don't know how we keep all 4 of them happy in contract negotiations - let alone how we get Hennesey the gametime he deserves. Nice problem to have.
