Losing two of our more experienced players early is never a good thing mind and the yellow was unfortunate.

We need to hang onto half time and pray we can get back into this in the second half but at the moment its looking like a video nasty.
It’s all going wrong for us. Their pack is immense and they’re four tries up at halftime. What will the second half bring?

Was josh adams terrible for both tries?

Jac Morgan definitely should have been given a turnover prior to 2nd try

The difference between the two sides is stark. The French attack looks sharp and slick, we look laboured in comparison. And aimless kicking just giving away what hard earned territory and possession we've had. That Wales havent actually played too badly ( relative to some recent performances at least) just makes it worse somehow.

I remember watching Wales v France at Wembley. 51-0 to France that day and it looked like France were playing a different sport. This looks awfully familiar.

The French defence is quite passive but we still can’t get anything through it.

We do t have the huge players that France and South Africa do so we need something else. Gatland needs to work out what or let someone else figure it out.

Starting a ‘scuffle’ when you’re 38 points to nil down isn’t a good look

Well, 2 hours of my life I don't need to waste.

At least that is the silver lining for me. Used to hate finding out the score beforehand but now I at least take a peek

They've got England next, so not necessarily all that costly

There are green shoots. We’re fighting to the end but genuinely outclassed.

Jac Morgan and tomos Williams had very obvious ruck turnovers ignored by Williams. Its not acceptable for a ref to decide he won't police the ruck and turnovers only come from knock ons

There are some decent Welsh players. But we need another plan. France broke us down a bit too easily and whilst that was initially down to the DuPont effect, we gave away some silly penalties to gift them great positions.

The one moment when we looked like causing the French defence some issues was that brief spell when we had about 4 offloads in a row. You sense that Ben Thomas isn’t the player to give us that direction at fly half, even though I felt he went alright tonight. We need a more instinctive flyhalf.

But we need to find a way to get momentum. One player taking the ball up is just too easy for the defence.

The fight was there, and the scrum and line out went better than expected. But the attack was so blunt, looked like trying to play Warrenball without the players to do it.

That’s exactly what it is. Without that generation of power players it’s very flat indeed.

That was a difficult watch. I thought most of our players actually played as well as they are able to. Thats the depressing part. Its not as though half the team played crap and let the team down. That literally is as good as we can be.
