Would be funny if Sam was sacked or resigned though...but it would stop being funny when Gary Neville is given the job!

Yep, sting no doubt but are you suggesting the F.A are behind it?kk67 wrote:Really, WiW..?.

I was honestly expecting him to get a bollocking and have to apologise in an interview.

F*ck no,....they're all terrified of getting caught themselves. The FA is the root of the cancer, they ain't sticking their heads over the parapet.WaspInWales wrote:Yep, sting no doubt but are you suggesting the F.A are behind it?kk67 wrote:Really, WiW..?.

Did you think the rest of the world invented corruption in Football..?. They inherited it from us.
It's a microcosm of how the Square Mile disseminates corruption throughout the financial world. We do it,....so they do it.

Southgate will step and be the leader the F.A need....for a fraction of the price.
He did, afterall, lead England U21s to victory in the prestigious Toulon Tournament featuring the mights of world football such as Japan (1-0), Guinea (7-1), Paraguay (4-0), Bulgaria (didn't play), Mexico (didn't play), Mali (didn't play), Czech Republic (didn't play), Portugal (1-0) and France (2-1). England made it to the final thanks to winning group B.
These are surely exciting times to be an England fan.

The worst bit of all this is that Scotland will get pumped by a team managed by Gareth fucking Southgate.

Re: Allardyce's first England squad
So basically a bloke takes a meeting to get some money he isn't entitled to in order to advise some people on how to get some money they're not entitled to, and as a consequence the man is allowed to get some money he shouldn't be entitled to by resigning rather than just being fired. And the people who allowed him to resign rather than firing him (basically being the same people who'll have paid themselves a bonus for hiring him) will move forward by paying themselves a bonus for hiring a replacement.
I don't think football is any worse than rugby btw, there's just a lot more money involved.

Independent chief sportswriter Ian Herbert: "The sums of money and avarice of it all is sickening. You look at the gulf in class between some of the top managers in the Premier League - the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp - and the sheer bare-faced grubbiness to it is just shocking."
FFS, I gather that Big Sam has subsequently (and ludicrously) stated that "entrapment has won". Thankfully, yes.

The more I see him saying it on the news the funnier it becomes. He's like Little Jonnie complaining that 'the rozzers is tricky baskets'.Parsifal wrote: FFS, I gather that Big Sam has subsequently (and ludicrously) stated that "entrapment has won". Thankfully, yes.

Jesus they were scraping the barrel with Sam, now they have a list which apparently was inferior to Sam the first time round and headed by Steve Bruce. What a shit state of affairs.
They need to forget this English manager bollocks is Bruce is the answer, and try to tempt Jorge Sampaoli from Sevilla.

Hmmm.....more lurid details to come in the days ahead. The eight remaining English managers must be sh*tting bricks.

How on earth can McClaren say that Allardyce is innocent?!? I wonder if he'll be jumping to the defence of Wright too?

Re: Allardyce's first England squad
I still don't think Allardyce was the right man for the job. I think he thought he deserved the job based purely on the length of time he'd been a manager rather than through success. Same with Hodgson and McClaren. Three absolutely useless managers.
Now we're stuck with Southgate who may get the job based on results against teams we should be beating anyway. I can't help feeling he's very much a 'yes man' for the FA but at least he'd probably pick Rashford. It'll be interesting to see if he keeps Rooney as captain though.
Show some balls Gareth!
Better yet, show some fucking balls FA. Go get a top class coach!

Yet another embarrassment in which football could learn from the gentleman's games of rugby and cricket..........after hiring a woefully underqualified Englishman and watching him fail miserably, hire an Aussie.

Honestly, I think Southgate is a really underrated coach. I feel he'd do well if given a chance. And despite appearances, he's no shrinking violet.WaspInWales wrote:I still don't think Allardyce was the right man for the job. Time will tell. I just hope he isn't given the job full time based on a few qualifying matches against poor teams.Stom wrote:Honestly, I think Southgate is a really underrated coach. The FA should be doing their best to get a top class, proven coach who has experience of winning big tournaments....but I honestly can't see many wanting the job now, regardless of how many millions will be thrown at them.
