This scoreline Without a great scrum half is quite something

Yes, for Heinz to be such an improvement on Jones's 1st choice is horrendous.

Daly needs to spend the next four weeks on one on ones and the high ball. Nothing else just catching and tackling every bloody day.

Yes, commentary team said it was his knee but I thought it could be the hamstring again.

That is a buttfucking of the highest order! Stop moaning! That’s a proper raping!! Of Ireland! If it wasn’t perfect then so bet it!
I shall watch it again sober! It may be a while before I am sober!
I fucking love you! Apart from you; you’re a cunt!

Jones confirms hamstring. Precautionary replacement only.

4 players I thought shone today in the pack:
1. Itoje has his best game since has first test season - really nice return of his fetching skills and a nice try (I’m still sure he could deputise for Billy at a stretch - not that anyone else believes me yet

)
2. Underhill was phenomenal and is starting to look like England’s Pocock!
3.Curry - at first thought blindside berth would shackle home somewhat but he still was able to produce some lovely linking play.
4. Kruis had one of his better games for England and word had obviously got back him about my cuddly comment

I thought Kruis's rigid hands were a real downside on at least one occasion.

It’s taken me a while but I am seeing that it can’t be a coincidence that with Ford 10 Farrell 12 we play our best rugby. I don’t like it, but it seems to happen. And it does pain me to say it.

That and a blip aside, service and kicking from scrum half improved 100% when Heinz came on. God preserve us all..........

I think that Tuilagi at 13 made Ford / Farrell look really good today too…
Much better than Slade outside them trying to play that role

Yep. Never seemed we quite worked out the correct role for Slade at 13. Was starting to get there when paired with Tuilagi but that’s probably out the window. I’d like him in the bench covering midfield though.

Works well with JJ there as well mind...
Imagine that, carrying threats can be useful for playmakers?
Notnthat I mind it, but I still prefer the ideas of:
Ford, Slade, Manu/JJ
Ford, Manu, JJ/Slade
Too late now though, and Ford Farrell Manu/JJ has worked too well, though I still have concerns about pairing Farrell and Manu in defence

Also agree on Tuilagi adding balance to Ford and Farrell. Slade or Joseph running those hardlines just doesn't free up the back three like Tuilagi running them, and neither are unable to carry on that hard line either. Worrying thing is if Tuilagi gets injured there's no like for like replacement, with Teo now nowhere to be seen.
Tuilagi has quickly probably become more most important player going into the world cup.

Been the rule for quite a while
Is this the one on 62 minutes? I was trying to work out what was going on. Is it not a maul if you hold up the catcher?

As SCW said. Farrell was the difference today.

16.18 If a maul is formed immediately after a player has directly caught an opponent’s kick in open play, a scrum that is awarded for any of the above reasons will be to the team of the ball catcher.

Makes sense really. If you had a pinpoint boxkicker and a hugely strong winger you could just marshal your way down the field holding players up.
