Oh, I agree with that but it does not make me feel any better about our feeble effort so far. We beat Wales only because they gifted us a try. Now, Italy have won in Cardiff by their own effort with a last minute superb try. Is our ambition height to be not grovelling down amongst the second division losers?
There's a Swedish expression: "don't paint the devil on the wall."

Nope. Scotland and Wales both lost a few to Italy back then. Including both of them in 2007.

Assuming you meant "loses to Italy"

You should try underwater paddleboard hockey.

But we shall see.

Using Genge as running back will be a bit sapping - needs every ounce.

Be more effective if he didn't keep stopping before contact to do a little sidestep. I've seen Alex Goode run into contact with more dynamism.

Itoje.

All that kicking out wide is isolating the ball carriers. The back row can't keep up in support of that all day.

He's running back from so deep I think he's knackered by the time he gets there. That and it must be disconcerting to be running into that massive blue wall head on.

Well, that's been coming. Our ball retention has been shocking - France have been rinsing us at the breakdown and they just look so much more focussed than us with ball in hand.

I’m just not convinced these are the 7th and 8th best wings in England… all off the back 3 were in a postage stamp there. Stupid.

We’re so impatient. There’s no strike runs and then players get frustrated when they don’t break the line. Again, stupid. Stupid decisions come from up top.
