Eurgh. Looks like Hogg is going to play the full 80. I'd rather he was taken off but suspect that Sarto's injury forced Rennie's hand.
Gray > Petersen needs to happen ASAP.

Appreciate that Russell and Hogg have had to stay on due to injuries but surely J Gray could have been hooked for Petersen... instead he replaces Ashe...
Harley moving to 6. Rennie perhaps worried about the scrum in the last few mins.

Awful captaincy from JG. 3 mins to play and he has Hoggy take a pot shot at goal? Comes off the post and Exeter make some serious meteres before knocking on.
Kick to the corner and play in the red zone up the jumper. Idiotic stuff.

Surely that makes perfect sense. Decent chance of going ten up with three mins to play otherwise you should get the ball back. Other option is a fifty fifty lineout. Just unlucky how it panned out

I disagree. At that distance the ball had a high chance of not going dead.

Watched the game last night.
Good win to round off a poor season in Europe. Exeter are no mugs so a good 5 points. Glasgow really need to start finding consistency in Europe. To have a -70odd points difference isn't great. Must do better next season.

Has been a poor Euro season for the Weeg but when you’re missing half of your first choice pack and playing kids you’re going to struggle against English, French and Irish teams.
Plus a team with Hogg and Seymour fit and in form is obviously >>>>>>>>>>>> one without.
Delighted to see both of those two back in sync. Seymour just as much as Hogg for the reason that Hogg is our one truly world class Test player and Seymour understands his game intimately. Look at those two brilliant second half tries.

Name a harder group in the HC - top teams in the Top 14, AP & two of the best in the pro 14. Someone was always going to be on the wrong side of the results and given the issues with Glasgow in the tight it's not surprising it was them.
When you think about it Weeg were not that far off 4 wins - just fine margins and a lack of quality or depth in some positions. The only two games they were never in were the the two Leinster matches. Considering many wrote this season off as a transitional one for Rennie's reign they have exceeded most expectations.
It's hard to see where they go next year though. Russell makes that attack tick.

I don't think my post was that controversial. My only comment directly about this season was their -70 odd points difference isn't great. I stand by that.
They do need to find positive consistency on Europe and must do better next season. In the last 10 seasons they have finished higher than 3rd in their group twice.
Next year's excuse is already written. Finn left. Then it will be Hogg leaving in 2019 if he goes.

Great wee player but he flapped about a bit in the first half against Exeter, and some of his game management was weak. But all to be expected from a player with his level of experience and at his age. Just needs more games.
He certainly runs the best supporting lines of all of the 9s at Glasgow and has the pace to make it count. Think 7s may well have helped him there.

Agree - very much this. Anticipating the play and running the support line followed by fixing/turning the last defender. Created the possibility of scoring himself or allowing support runners to make themselves available on either side. Good stuff and not panicking after making a break - something we were terrible for on the rare occasions (Paterson usually) made a break in the last decade.

I think Horne will be great but I don’t see the need to rush. Price has done really well and I’m actually quite excited to see what Townsend does with Laidlaw.
He just seems a bit green at times. I know he simply didn’t hear Piote calling but that offside penalty could have been really crucial.
There’s quite a massive gap between Horne and Price’s defence too.
