Hard luck NZ. You can't legislate for a player doing something ridiculous like SBW do and it's very rare that you see anyone in an all black shirt do so. To keep the game to within three points and to be so close to winning it shows just how far ahead of the rest of the world you guys are.

Now bring on the third test.

defended pretty well, though a lot of pens, used our possession pretty well. Sending off obviously helped.

I appreciate Read's decent, gentlemanly response to a really stupid question. Hard luck, mate.

Losing Kaino was arguably worse.

Graham Simmonds......just when I thought he couldn't be any more of a dick!

Fair enough, Lions were better on the day. BUT Garces should be made to explain why O'Brien's hit on the back of Naholo's head did not even warrant a look. His reasoning for sending off SBW - "I must protect the player" - apparently only applies to one team.

Well fuck me that was a bit tense! We made seriously heavy weather of a one man advantage and the lack of composure was painful to watch.

For a moment I though Vunipola had royally screwed us, but too many penalties.

Huge respect to the All Blacks for their performance, for half of the game they were by far the better team with one player down.

That said, we started well and our pack fronted up. We also scored two tidy tries.

The weather apparently favoured us. Maybe although I don't think the All Blacks are too unused to playing in the wet. The difference was the utterly stupid challenge by SBW.

Very pleased with that result. I still think the Blacks are huge favourites next weekend and they will be up for righting a bad result. But right now I could give a toss about next weekend, we won, let's celebrate!

I agree. Big call to weaken the pack.

Can't agree with that at all. Caused the AB's lots of issues, and they were doing so even before SBW went off. Shape in attack best it's been on tour by far. Just next week need a bit more decent ball.

Did he see it? There seemed to be several occasions that the video ref was not being heard by Garces.

Agreed, I was surprised at how cohesive they looked in attack, so will wind my neck in.

I remember the TMO mentioned it, but Garces apparently decided he couldn't give any less of a shit. I don't care what colour jersey you're wearing, if you swing an arm at the back of someone's head, then you're a cunt and should be banned, and the referee sure as fucking shit should send you off for it.

In atrocious weather, the lions attack looked alright. Defensively they did miss Teo, but not in attack.

Our biggest issue tonight was once again composure. After the red card we lost ours completely.

Can't see there being many Lions changes. I thought Mako should have been taken off after the hit on Barrett from the kick. It was a card of either colour waiting to happen. For punishing idiocy at least he should be dropped.

I didn't think that was as bad as the Vunipola or SBW ones. It deserved a look but not sure what outcome it should have been.

In the SBW incident Garces watched every replay and then asked for a second round of viewings. With Vunipola he'd already decided and the TMO literally had to say "hold on, wait to see this angle" which clearly showed a straight shoulder to the head - even the TMO knew what the outcome should have been in the interests of parity. Garces wasn't interested, he'd already made up his mind, just like by the looks of it a number of other things he'd already decided.

Did they show it more than once on NZ tv? Not sure if you have the same pictures as us? From the one replay and one angle we saw it looked like SOB is completely unsighted with his head up someone backside and Naholo is about 2 feet off the floor...certainly a lot more mitigation than SBW. Would like to see it again.

Will be interesting to see if he's cited.

I don't think it was an issue. Its more because I think as fans our tempers were through the roof at how Garces had dealt wth the SBW and Vunipola ones differently that all of a sudden everything is an injustice.

Its pretty far down the list in terms of the obvious things Garces did wrong. The worst thing is if the ABs had won then we could lodge a complaint and his shocker would be analysed properly, now I don't think we will because you come off looking like sore losers but it was an atrociously lopsided performance.
