Now, that would be a good read!
Out of all of Trump's initial picks, I was most sceptical about Tillerson's appointment. I thought a former oil executive would only serve the needs of corporations and former buddies, but he has been the voice of reason on many issues. He seemed to be a very good diplomat.

A good diplomat? He ignored much of the diplomatic core of the State Department and even wanted to shrink the place with 25% cuts to its budget making the DoD still more important in relative terms. Diplomacy bad, smaller government good and all that, if Tillerson looked good it was only by compare to the likes of Voss and Carson.
Though he's probably gone for calling Trump a moron and wanting talks on Korea whereas Trump wanted to drop a big bomb. Now Trump is excited about talks it's not maybe surprising Trump is getting rid of the person who wanted talks all along.
Wasn't it Trump who wanted to cut the SD budget?
My comment about Tillerson being a good diplomat was relating to his preference for diplomacy, rather than the rhetoric spewed by Trump.

He seemed more impressive than Trump, again today with Trump not having the balls to speak to Tillerson even on the phone to tell him he was fired. But I don't think Tillerson was that good, maybe with more experience, building some contacts, and using the SD rather more he'd have improved, and maybe it's too much to expect much more of an oil man who was hired it seemed because he'd experience with Putin

Also of note today, Trump's personal assistant was fired from the Whitehouse on serious security grounds, even being escorted off the site without being allowed to return to his desk. Luckily he's since been able to find work with the Trump 2020 team who don't have an issue with serious ongoing security concerns

Trump suggests at no time in US history have the business fundamentals been better in US business. He might be right, though not much seems to have changed in a good number of years bar scrapping some environmental protections, and it's highly questionable with that happening if the fundamentals are better, not unless one fundamentally pays no heed to sustainability. I'd suggest the amount of cheap credit, the amount of debt, the lack of investment (in say the steel industry), the prospect of trade wars, the crumbling infrastructure with no sensible plan to fix it all mean fundamentally they've got some big problems.
Still, it's a nice try with Lamb ahead in the votes in Pennsylvania before absentee all being counted. Just a massive swing to the Dems

That was going to be the person who told us Tillerson was gone, but they fired him

It's funny that the prevailing opinion is that Trump is a uniquely stupid Politician. In actual fact they're all like that, just better at hiding it.

It was fascinating to see the Canadian cabinet 3 years ago, genuinely qualified representatives.....at the same time Nigel Farage was claiming all the EU representatives were jobless pricks and they were all less qualified than he was.
I think you'll remember the German rep' doing the wanker signal when Nigel said it.
They aren't all wanchers......the English are just the worst manipulators.

Some have questionable morals for sure, some may be completely detached from the people they represent, but I don't agree that they're all stupid and just hide it well. The vast majority are well educated and have a good understanding of government, law, economics...unlike Trump.

Trump decreases the median beautifully.
It just makes it easier for all the psychopathic morons to pretend they're decent.

That's just ridiculous kk.
So are they stupid, or are they psychopaths?
Stupid psychopaths, and a stable genius?
Your point a few posts up was about their intelligence and now you've made it about their mental health.

Yup. They're all bonkers, self aggrandising and corrupted by power.
They reach high positions because they are lionised by a stupid population.
They are charismatic......but they ain't clever.

Fair enough. I imagine he decreases all the averages except the one that gave him the electoral college.

I want to see that silly bitch crook Shirley Porter pay her comeuppance.
But the tragically crooked accountants in Westminster let her off.
It does seem odd to me that PWC and EY are constantly being fined for conflict of interests and then being granted a new government contract...?.
