Pleased with that. Was wondering if McDowell might sneak into the reckoning but it’s a fair call if Rennie thinks Grigg is the man to start.

In the words of Wendy Alexander, “bring it on”.

I assume Lyon will be playing their 2s? Given they are out of it and in with a shot at the Top 14?

I still don't really buy Grigg against top opposition in big games (play off/Europe/International) but he should be grand in this one.

Horne yet again with a questionable pass when under pressure in a scoring position. He is considered to be our best passing/playmaking 12 but this is a real feature. The support were very flat, it was more difficult than Nichol acknowledges, but still.

Yeah because Saracens haven't played...

Don't get me wrong - both teams playing very well in Europe and well worth their standings but that's a stupid f*cking comment from the beeb.

Tommy Seymour signs a year’s extension. Think that’s him to the end of 19/20 season.

Would suggest he plans to leave after that. At 30, if he had long term plans to stay at Glasgow you'd have thought a 2 year deal would have been attainable at least.

He is not the only one dictating terms.

I mean Glasgow put Horne Jr on a 1 year deal. He's since been capped by Scotland and regularly gets good press for HC level performances.

Glasgow cannot be that thick so I suspect Horne (and his agent/father) may have forseen what would happen... A much better deal beckons now.

That is correct, however if there was a two year deal wanted it isn't a stretch to think one could have been agreed.

I think Hastings could make it tricky for the Glasgow and their budget too. He can within reason name his price and Glasgow/SRU probably have to pay it.

Glesga team oot. McDowell starts!

Fraser Brown our for 8 - 10 weeks. Disappointed, but I guess the upside is it’ll be good to see Turner get a run.

Lyon team also out - still has some big names in it but for some reason I am struggling to post it.

I like the name of one of their substitutes - Albertus Buckle! Rudi Wolf also sounds like he should be starring alongside Ron Jeremy.

Co-captains is stupid. Which one decides whether to kick a pen - that one is captain.

Centre partnership has potential.

Oli Kebble is a real looker when viewed alongside the rest of that front 5.

I'm surprised Hogg didn't ask to get another photo done after his hair magically regrew.

Didn't Gibbins basically admit the co=captain thing is dumb and that Wilson is the captain when they're both playing? I guess Rennie wanted some sort of consistency when Wilson is away with Scotland.

Turner looks fvcked. Shame. Just rewound it - can’t quite tell what happened, but looked a very sore one.

Try machine Ross Ford back for 6N?!

A Castres non-BP win v Munster would be good for Glasgow in the race for a second place spot. Means Castres would need 2 x BP wins to get to 19 against Gloucester and Exeter. Would also make Munster sweat a bit. Boring bastards that they are.

Currently 13-12 Munster with 10 to go. Only try scored by Castres, but Munster have a try going to the video ref...

Glasgow are going to live to regret the reluctance to kick a DG v Sarries and BP today.

Wales Online reporting both Scarlets and Cardiff want to sign Niko

Supposedly Nikos wife is welsh although he seems pretty happy here

I’d not been entirely sold on him as a full time winger until recently, maybe it would go differently this time but there was a sense he never really clicked at all at Bath/Exe and was finally able to do his thing again when returning to Glasgow. You’d think any pro14 side would be fully aware of what they’re getting themselves on for though.

Niko always looked much better on the wing, whilst he just never really looked like a starting scrum half unless surrounded by a team of Fijians.
One of those who wanted to play where he wanted to play, and kinda sulked when asked to play where he was better.
It looks like he's accepted that he's a better winger now, and actually thrown himself into the role properly. Still fine as a backup SH, or for the last 10 minutes.
