Matt Scott also scored for Glass today, he must be close to displacing Bennett from the Scottish squad

Scott needs to be in the squad. That's 3-4 months of consistent performances now

He got 2 today. He definitely deserves to be in the 6N squad.

Dunc Taylor just back and I think hurt his ankle.

I think it's jones, Dunbar Bennett and Scott in the 6N squad.

I think Scott/Dunbar might be our best combo

Jones looks brilliant, but I too can't get over the balance and the options that Scott/Dunbar gave us that one season they played together. Also did we even have Russell then?

I'm still trying to work out whether crowbarring one of or centres in on the wing is he right move or not. Jones is considered to be able to play there but maybe wouldn't be the best use of him? He surely couldn't be any more limp in contact than Visser/Maryland? Would this do Hoyland/Hughes a disservice?

Not sure id drop either Symore or Maitland, both playing very well and Visser is holding up ok at Harlequins

True but then he got injured and I dont think he will have played between then and 6N.

And I'll admit I like the fact Scott is actually home grown

SRU allegedly looking at Wasps Winger Josh Bassett (was England U20) and Stormers prop Oli Kebble (was Springbok U20). Allegedly both already SQ. wonder if they were tip-offs from messrs Jackson and Jones, respectively?

Kebble a LHP? Think Basset has been on radar for a while. I saw an article that there's a young lad at the brumbies who is SQ too.

Apparently a loosehead. See this article which claims Munster were after him - http://www.the42.ie/munster-oliver-kebb ... 6-Oct2016/

Edit - just read another website where someone reckons he would be a project player and not SQ. We shall see.

Kebble would be a real capture if he's Scottish qualified. Not the finished article yet but he will be an international one day. He'll be cheaper than Ryan Grant as well which is where I assume he is headed if true.

RG covering a lot of ground for Toulouse today but it's a pretty stodgy game.

Low played for Exeter at loose head again,

Not a lot to say about him really, didn't give away a lot of penalties but seems to be no more than a squad player, think Welsh has to come in to the Scotland team as 3rd TH

He killed his international career by signing a new deal knowing full well he was already second choice & an aussie international was en route.

Can't blame him really. 31 at the time, happy at a very well run club where he appears to be valued as squad player (even if not in 1st choice 23) and no doubt on very reasonable money.

Realistically he wasn't going to start anywhere in England or France and possibly wouldn't be offered the same money in Scotland. So why move realistically to stay 3rd choice at best for Scotland when he is clearly happy. There comes a point in the Scotland fringe players careers where more than "just" Scotland prospects are important.

And of course, the national coaches have no obligation to pick him. I wouldn't be surprised if at that point in time he and VC/Humphreys had a chat about it.

Absolutely. Got to square away as much of a pension as possible.

I have no issues with what Moray has chosen to do with his life. I am sure he is very well compensated, lives in a lovely part of the country and the culture at Exeter looks second to none. The fact remains - he knowingly killed his Scotland career.

Good luck to him. What a weird career though. Was he just promoted too far above his abilities because of our complete lack of options at centre?

Well he did show a lot of promise but never developed after his first International cap(against France in 2008 I think). It could have been a mental thing as he showed sparks of brilliance but then other moments of ... meh?
