Loved the wording of the letter about a missed opportunity of peace at the same time as threatening the use of nuclear weapons.

As of right now, yes I would. I am registered Republican, however I dont always vote Republican. I tend to vote according to what I think is the best solution for each issue... I am right side middle of the road I suppose. The problem I have is that the left has gone too far left imo. I could be swayed from the Republican party if the Dems reigned in their agenda a bit. I am a free market.. lower taxes.. less govt kinda girl at heart.J Dory wrote:Would you still vote for him Coco? How key is the lower taxes to you in the face of a hugely out of control government borrowing situation?Coco wrote:As of right now, yes I would. I always find people’s assessments of their own position on the left/right scale- and how they’re actually pretty moderate whilst the other side has gone too far- very entertaining. Certainly works both ways though.

As opposed to any other state. We have the highest poverty rate.. 1 in 3 welfare/public assistance recipients are in California even though we are only 12% of the US population... its nuts Porky. I won't even go in to the environmental restrictions, water restrictions, housing prices etc etc etc
I have been here all my life and have seen the drastic change in the last 30 years. It has not been for the better.
As I said before.. this is my own personal experience and opinions resulting from them. You all have your own and I respect that.

You say over the past 30 years it's gone downhill. Where do you see that as having come from?Coco wrote:As opposed to any other state. I'm sure I made myself clear. 30 years is a rough time span from when I became interested and aware until now. I was a Democrat until about 15-20 yrs ago believe it or not.

I'm sorry I probably missed it then. Just honestly interested in why you think the problems have come/been made worse.Coco wrote:I'm sure I made myself clear. 30 years is a rough time span from when I became interested and aware until now. Re: Trump
I am not opposed to social welfare... what I do oppose is the welfare (using that to include everything) system giving benefits to people that are scamming the system. Also, here in California, it is very hard, if possible at all, to receive one part of the welfare system without getting all of it even if you dont need all of it. Wasteful to the maximum degree. Needs to be more accountability. Recipients can use their EBTcard in casinos, fast food restaurants, and can even get cash to spend on whatever untracked. Part of accountability is making sure the money is getting spent on food, and necessities. Dont even get me started on WIC and women that keep battling out babies they can't take care of. That is just scratching the surface.

Yeah, it is quite a staid argument, and quite a poor one if pushing for small government overall. You want to see what things look like when the mantra of tax cuts no matter what and letting the private sector "manage" infrastructure unfettered by regulation, check out Kansas.
